25NL 3BP OOP Hand Review

116BB effective, GGpoker Ontario (geofenced pool)

Villain is a trying recreational who I play with regularly, only note is that he has sizing tells and I assume he is generally underbluffing and overcalling. Has VPIP/PFR of ~30/~20.

As PFR OOP I like checking range on this board. (I've been trying to build a b20 range in 3BPs both IP & OOP but typically only on boards with at least one broadway card).

I think for this size he is betting range, and while most 25NL opponents are very unbalanced and will usually just check when they miss flop, I think villain is capable of leveraging position to try to deny equity and fold out my non paired hands. I think his range consists of 55-JJ as well as suited broadways, maybe even some lower suited connectors. With his nutted hands being such a low % of his range I decide to target his middle strength hands and go for a 1-street bluff x/r.

V calls relatively quickly

When V calls the X/R without much tanking I put him on pretty much only middle pocket pairs and some flush draw combos, though I discount some FD combos as I expect his strongest FDs would consider a 3! or jam on flop. Regardless I'm pretty much ready to give up on this hand though at this point unless I hit a pair, preferably a Q. I think he would have taken longer with 55 or 99 and 3! those at a pretty high frequency given there's a FD on board (despite that I don't have many FD combos in range, I think that at this most stake players put you on FD too often and fast play top of range in 3BPs at a high frequency).

Turn (93.4bb, 70bb behind): Qs

I consider betting this card but since I think his range is so heavily weighted toward middling pocket pairs I decide to check with the intention of check-raising again. If he has a flush draw, I expect him to check it back often unless he specifically had QdXd.

When he bets this weird medium size I think his FD combos are reduced and his range is mainly 88, TT, and JJ which are kind of spazzing on this over card, as well as some AQ, KQ, and QJ which now feel comfortable betting. Of course there is still a sliver of 55 and 99 in range but I think those hands jam turn with SPR of <1. Against his full range I expect to be ahead most of the time.

Hero x/r all in (30bb more into 140bb pot)

With SPR so low I figure I'm getting called here by pretty much his entire range, which again I expect to be ahead of most of the time.
