2 ladies and a blindfold I mean blind raise
1-3 nlhe 400 max 7 handed this hand
H SB ~430 should have a tight aggressive image but I don’t know if anyone is paying attention.
V1 MAWG drunk playing a lot of hands. He won a few big pots early and has a big stack. But has been spewing the rest of the night. Covers H
V2 young Indian Guy. Hasn’t played many hands. His pre flop raise sizes has been small 9-10 dollars. Has been short stacked most of the night. $88.
V1 has been absent for a few orbits before this hand. He sits down and post BB. Then the player on my left returns to post. V1 wants to straddle to $20. Dealer tells him he can’t it would have to be a blind raise to $20. What’s the difference? Why not look at your cards first and raise?
Pre
V1 blind raises $20 UTG
V2 HJ calls
H SB with QhQs raises to $100.
BB folds , V1 tank calls, V2 calls all in for less
Flop ($283 total. $259 main. $24 side pot)
8 6 4 two diamonds one heart.
H first to act?

Since there's no sidepot, V is less likely to stab at it with random hands.
So bet is the only answer.
Either jam or bet something like 80~100 then jam turn.
With the info given, I would grab my pile and look at him for a few seconds, then tank a little longer before pushing them in the middle.
I make decisions and play quickly for the most part, but I want to delay in this spot long enough for villain to think I could have AK.
He’s a gambler and might think I’m gambling too. Give him a chance to make a big mistake.
Grunch:
PRE - raise bigger. Make it $120. Make it $200. Drunk guy is spewing and opening $20 blind, and you have a monster.
FLOP - jam.
You only have $330 left. If V out-flopped you, nice hand, good game. There's over $500 in the combined pot, and our hand as little to no chance of improving. V probably isn't folding any pair, any draw, any two over-cards, anything with an ace in it, maybe nothing with a king in it.
Just jam.

Doc, why raise bigger? 3x20+20+blinds = 90 or 100.
Don't you want drunk to make a bad call?

Pretty much expecting it. Just trying to get as much in as possible, across as few bets as possible.
He just blind raised. You think he's going to make a nitty fold?
Alcohol lowers inhibitions. I want to give him an opportunity to make the biggest mistake possible, not multiple opportunities to come to his senses and remember discretion is the better part of valor.
The dealer took what seemed like forever to get the pot right. I guess $88 dollars is a difficult amount to count. I had pretty much made up my mind to shove the flop. I had some doubts with scary flops like a K or A.
The flop came. I paused to "think about it". Then shoved. V1 tanks, says he wanted to play his hand, then folds. V2 turns over AA. Good thing he was short stacked!
I posted this hand cause the whole time I was trying to get heads up with the short stacked player. Afterwards I realized that the only way to make money in this hand was to get V1, whom I was afraid of (because of his stack size), to call.
Meh. I think you played it fine. You can't worry about what V2 has or does after you act. All you can do is try to find the highest EV play vs V1.
If he calls your jam and sucks out, so be it. If he out-flopped you, so be it. If you try to trap or milk him, and he sucks out on the turn or river, you're going to want to lay down in the parking lot and hope someone runs you over.
I wouldn't necessarily play it the same way vs any rando opponent. But facing drunk and spewy V's, I'm not going to take my foot off the gas.

This casino parking lot has a lot of semis (tractor with no trailers) and the occasional bus.

As always I like the voodoo that you do.

FWIW, there's always an additional degree of meta whenever a player raises dark. Like, logically, we should be raising with any hand that fares to be ahead of a range of ATC. If his range is 100%, and HJ's limping range is 40%, we could profitably 3B with a pretty wide range.
When someone 3B's over a blind raise, their 3B range is thus going to be wider / weaker. Now players in the game start to think about whether or not the raiser is getting OOL.
The 3B size plays a part. Click it, and people will wonder if that's AA hoping to induce or FOS. Go huge, people might think we're just trying to buy it and take down some dead money without a fight.
That's all before we layer in the fact that V is drunk, up-stuck, spewing, and just returned to the table, obviously in a mood to get back in action, before the dealer does something annoying.
Don't know about you, but to me, that looks like an opportunity to exploit. Maybe he looks at his cards and snap folds to a big 3B. But if he's got anything remotely attractive, I want to charge him the max to see the flop.
I don't know if this is relevant, but in the last three weeks I've played in 4 of these blind raise hands. I'm currently one for 4. I had pocket queens twice. And Vs were all in blind twice. Its nice to see my opponents gambling, but It would be nice to catch a hand. Also I always thought blind raises to this size or larger were always action killers.

Wouldn't seem relevant, at least not pertaining to your play, without having more details. It may only highlight that variance plays a role when we get it in pre for piles vs maniacs.
