Bracelet Hunting - A WSOP 2026 Trip Report
Time for a new thread!

Good luck in the HORSE Tony! That is one of my favorite events - if I had a better start to the trip I'd be in there firing with you but alas, we will grind the NLHE circuit a bit the next couple days to try to mount a comeback. GLGL
I never have anything of substance to add to your threads since I Just play NLHE, but just wanted to say that I always enjoy reading them and thanks for posting.
I keep a tab open to
Helps in following along at least knowing the rules and I like to think if I ever play mix games I'll have a basic understanding of game play and strategy.
That old guy has pocket Chihuahuas.
More than just Tony, anyone else who's had some experience with people who bring their support animals.
Do you find anything in common across those people, in terms of their play?
Loving this TR man thanks for sharing !
Two more days til I have some skin in the game! Let's go DT!
The guy with the dog, after losing several pots to me, moved to the seat on my left. He had the dog in a bag. He opened the bag and asked me to look inside and then tells me in a southern drawl, βSheβs gonna bite yo ass.β He then moved back to his old seat like 3 hands later. It felt like he moved for the precise reason of threatening me with his toy dog. LHE is the nuts.
Day 16
Wednesday June 10th
Opted for the Paris pool today. It was actually quite busy and it was hard to swim as lots of people were just standing around in all areas of the pool.

Had Norman Chad on my table in the HORSE tournament complete with camera crew for some of the time. Needless to say I gave him some stick for his purple suit.

I barely had to use the whip all day. She was going along very nicely. From the 25k starting stack we had 37k on 1st break, 55k on 2nd break and 75k on 3rd break and the end of late reg.

We sipped slightly to have 60k on the last break of the night but after having been ahead of the game all day that was still average.
We then lose two monster pots in the penultimate level of the night (4k-8k limits)
First in Stud. We have AAA vs 8822 going into 7th. Villian makes 8βs full.
Then In Stud 8 I have two pair and low draw in a 3-way going into 7th and catch a 9. Villain 1 makes a low and Villain 2 hits a gutshot to make a straight.
That left us with crumbs which we nursed through the last level and into the most pathetic bag youβve seen.

16k coming back to 6k - 12k limits and still about 50 players short of the money.
Really pissed off with those beats, especially the 8βs full one as It was literally a one outer as the other cards were dead. Played great all day and then that happens when the limits are the highest to cripple me.

Crazy comeback by the Knicks today. Was too preoccupied with the tournament to bet it.
The World Cup starts tomorrow but I dont like anything in the opening two games.
More dogs are better. π

What's the rule on exposing cards in the middle of a hand? Having lost to my mom in my home game to countless hands like these (she's gotta catch perfect perfect etc but I KNOW she's gonna get there), I will sometimes purposefully expose my cards bc a) it's a fun home game and b) I just wanna drag the pot now vs fade the inevitable one outer π
I know a lot of tourneys have the rule that if you intentionally expose cards when there's action to be had, your hand is dead. Is that the case at WSOP?
68: Exposing Cards and Proper Folding
Exposing cards with action pending, including the current player when last to act, may result in a penalty but not a dead hand. Any penalty begins at the end of the hand. When folding, cards should be pushed forward low to the table, not deliberately exposed or tossed high (“helicoptered”π. See Rule 66.
Not sure if WSOP has an override, but here's the TDA rule on exposing.
Thanks. I've never personally felt that rule/penalty made sense. If there is demonstrably a time when taking a risk/making a "bad" decision (ie exposing cards) can be used skillfully and properly, then the player shouldn't be penalized for recognizing and capitalizing on that moment. If the action influences opponents to make a different decision than they otherwise would have made so what- that's no different than a bet vs a check, a check-call vs a check raise, etc. The whole game ultimately is about using actions to try and get the desired result from the opponents. Philosophically I don't see the difference here (vs something like threatening an opponent with physical violence).
Good luck today.
