The Great OOTdoors

The Great OOTdoors

I've been meaning to start a thread like this for quite awhile now, and I figure since I've been cooped up in the house

nice pics everyone

I downloaded them from your site, unblocked them in properties, and I'm getting the same result you did, still. Has to be some kind of permission issue in the photo as I was able to copy/paste my photos fine.

Not recent, just testing:

Gold Camp Road just outside Colorado Springs

Pikes Peak

Shelf road south of Cripple Creek

Taos NM, this was in May and not expected

Loaded the pictures in Gimp and saved and now they work. Not sure wtf is going on, they work on other sites.

That’s an owl.

Awesome!
I would think that he's pretty secure in there.

who?

He looks horny. Or thorny.

finally! thought the bears might have got ya.

Wow, nice pictures, mark.

Nice!

Headed to Denali tomorrow and Friday. Fingers crossed for some clear skies!

can i say maybe instead think of clear skies as a daily Denali bonus
please do not take for any sort of granite that damn pile of igneous rock blocks every Keani cloud supplying moist for most of life creating micro-climates in the valley below-

Ummmm, right! You betcha!

When we went to Denali it was mostly covered with clouds. Good views the next day from the train back, though.

Hope you're able to see the mountain, it's an awesome sight.

We had great views on Denali in the way up from Anchorage, then it clouded up around noon. Later in the afternoon got a little glimpse from the park. Tomorrow we'll be riding the bus into the park as far as we can and will hopefully get some decent views, although you can only go to mile 43 of 92 this year due to a bridge being taken out by a rockslide. Getting on the bus at 7am, so hoping for some good wildlife sightings. Saw a caribou today with a huge rack, but he was too far off for a decent pic.

Splendid picture of the invasive and ubiquitous Dallas Cowboys fan!

Several years ago I was trying to plan a trip to Denali, but postponed it because a rockslide (I think) had closed the road about halfway to it. Never got around to planning/making the trip. Do you know if that road has been closed at that spot for several years?

You probably can't tell, but I'm plenty jelly. Have fun!

Apparently it happened in 2021. I had no idea, just assumed it had happened last year or maybe the year before, lol.

Thanks. Ugh for visitors though.
It sounds like highway repair departments are the same all over the US.

Nice pictures Mark. I’m envious.

I’m stuck in the desert sweating my balls off contemplating whether I am going to be ok.

Saw this this about 10 miles back. Made it anyway suckers.

Compass and a map for the win.

I planned on camping at the lake tonight. Not going to make it. Stopping for the night. It’s 108 right now and I am questioning the decisions I make. The heat took a toll on me today. At least I was smart enough to stash some water here just in case.

Great Denali viewing today. No bear sightings, but saw some beaver (Hey now), caribou, ptarmigan, and dall sheep.

I guess their work year is a little shorter than average, lol. Plus instead of going back with road they're going bridge. Supposedly the bridge is finished and all that's left is the ramps on and off, so open next year for sure.

I'm extremely happy with my decision to not be in Texas right now.

Says everyone who's ever been to Texas, and left.

Nice pictures, mark. Glad to see you got a good view of the mountain. Look out for bears.
