Now at the airport lounge in Calgary.

My buddy has been randomly selected at every junction possible on this trip. Meanwhile I’m running good and having breakfast.

Wheels back up in about 90 minutes.

When I travel via Calgary I clear customs there.

Direct flights I don’t clear until Vegas.

Soon as we land, we grab the suitcase and snag a cab.

More run good: got a free early check in!

Looks like First Class with all that legroom.

We have gone exit row - exit row to start the trip.

At 39,000 feet.

Well. Today has been... something.

Before I could check in, won +125 in video poker.
Checked in. a 1 bedroom suite on the 26th floor. Nice view of Bellagio from here.

Met my buddy at the cash games in Paris. Lost 300 playing 1/3, about 90% when I raised for the first time with black KK, 2 calls, guy 3 bets, I click back a 4 bet (only because he is playing 90% of hands, and I figure this is the best way to commit him), he jams, I snap it off.

Board runs out 77634. And of course he has black 55.

Slots were up and down, but one big loser in the bunch.

Craps was a disaster. I think I saw eight point-sevens in a row.

Dinner was Gordon Ramsey Fish & Chips. $30 and whatever.

We’re trying to stop the bleeding here. Work in progress but it’s hard to lose piles playing 4/8 limit mixed games.

Day 1 post script: we hit 1,000 TC yesterday, so we got the 1K bonus. Halfway to Platinum in a day. Nice.

Day 2 recap:

This can be mostly summarized with one word: UGH.

It's been 2 full days of very little going right on this trip.

We ran the gauntlet getting 50 TCs at 7 locations to get a 7x RC multiplier for the next couple days. Should help with the pain. Cost 600 bucks to get it done. Feels like a completely worthless endeavor given how poorly we ran.

Speaking of running bad. Went to Venetian, and ended up in a really bad game. I should have picked up, but had a path to a triple up with 88 all in pre (I 4 bet jammed over a wimpy 3 bet) against AQ and AT. Someone else folded an ace. Flop was clean, turn was an ace to sink me and it was time to start walking.

Walked to Bellagio and got into the Mixed Game Festival a day before the original plan. Figured that this would be the way to keep playing and limit the losses at the same time. Played 5 hours of a bunch of wacky 4/8 limit games and lost exactly 100. But arguably the most fun hundo on this trip. I'm going to go back and play it again tomorrow. I'll put the full list of games being played at my table in the next post. We played a short 1/3 session at Bellagio to close out the day's activity and lost 19 bucks.

Sprinkle in losing 100 on video poker and 300 on stadium craps... and we're doing a LOT of talking to ourselves this evening.

... and what the heck was that Knicks? You had your foot on their throat and you let them get off the mat. Gonna be a series now.
