Congrats Palace

I mean lol if they never won it but they did it

Anthony Gordon to Barca wasn't on my bingo card

Don't think I've ever seen Gordon play a good game but I'll be the first to admit I don't watch Newcastle much. 70m + 10m in bonuses seems wild though but wtf do I know.

2/3 English teams won, need Arsenal to lift the cup for a nice win!

He looks incredible at times, and at other times a bit brain dead (smashing into VVD for no reason in newcastle v pool start of the season). That same VVD also has as many premier league goals as him this year. I am not really a good judge of a player but tbh if I was Newcastle I would take the money and run.

English teams absolutely dominating that Conference League trophy, albeit small sample size.

when gordon was on the field the same time as richarlison, the defense zoned in on richarlison and that really let him shine

this was in response to someone talking about richarlison not being good

by rickroll

i got the feeling that the opposition could just focus in on him, he was often surrounded by defenders whenever he touched the ball anywhere close to the neton a team with more ball control and more attacking threats the defenses would need to go more 1 on 1 vs him and that could really open things up for himeverton had 39.6% posession last year, second to last just barely bett

obviously true for anyone, but i really think gordon could thrive on a super team where defense absolutely can't focus on him

there any palace supporters round here?

anyway, villa win, palace win, spurs stay up ... guess that means arse double and it's coming home

Jordan Henderson going to the World Cup instead of him, idk about that one.

I usually like to give managers the benefit of the doubt, but the England team selection seems like Touchel was carrying out a vendetta.

Hall vs Spence
Any winger vs Madueke (Im grateful for him being there as a squad player for us, but world cup squad?)

Leaving TAA, Wharton for Hendo and insert random name.

Leaving Slabhead when he finally has a good season.

Hendo played like 90minutes this season altogether.

Also congrats Palace. Think they'll cash in on some players like Mateta and Wharton. If there is a season to rebuild its next one with the 3 newcomers seemingly giving that security of safety

Also Oliver Glasner. Can we appreciate the guy for a second?

Takes Frankfurt and wins the EL.

Takes Crystal Palace. After winning the FA cup.... loses not one, but two of his main attacking threats Eze (champion), Olise (champion) and also a world beater seemingly.

January comes and loses his captain Guehi (RUNNER UP, but bags 2 trophies) on the last day of the transfer window.

Talks of him getting the sack as he criticizes the club leadership for the sales and not recruiting at all.

Fast forward 5 months. He is lifting the Europe Conference league making an absolute historic 2 seasons.

Hats off Herr Glasner

Oh for ****'s sake we've announced the first interesting away pre season game in living memory, and it is:

a) the weekend when I expect the first prelim round of the FA Cup to be and I am not missing my local team's debut for the world
b) the weekend when, if it weren't for that, I'd be at a gaming event relevant to my interests
c) except said event, this year, is being held within a half hour drive of my house rather than (checks notes) the short train journey to where said ****ing match is if they had stayed in the previous venue from last year

Slot sacked.

In minor other news, the CL final is at 5pm today and features a PL side.

Wasnt expecting them to sack Slot tbf

Xabi Alonso not so happy he said yes to Chelsea now I imagine

Maybe Iraola to take his spot? Did an amazing job at Bournemouth and I cant think of many better options who are free right now

Just saw this. Bizarre timing considering Alonso was available.

Good luck to us!

12 pm my time is odd but also don’t mind it.

Slot did win the league but that was all down to Salah going to Ballon d'Or levels for a season.

The football has been crap at all times and the results also terrible this season, the sacking is well overdue. Lol @ them not doing it when Alonso openly wanted the job but Iraola is also a great manager and would be a good pick imo. Bournemouth sold so many great players last summer but still got results this season. Plus the football was decent, and that's sorely needed after a year where multiple big teams in the Prem were awful to watch.

With sacking of Slot, the number of bald managers have dropped to 0 in the premier league.

Pep felt he would be isolated after Nuno got relegated, Tudor and Slot sacked.

It is just a different era or football and Pep, being the visionary he is, realized the time for hairless managers have passed.

Also Pool REALLY didn't want to gamble on Xabi as their manager did they? It was clear they shouldn't trust Slot with the Salah/Robo rebuild so this was coming, but waited and waited until Xabi signed for Chelsea.

Probably right not to. Iraola looks a very good fit for them, which will be a shame as it's been lovely seeing them struggling to even make the CL places while Arsenal won the league.

De Zerbi has 12 months maximum left with hair.

Hundreds of thousands of Arsenal fans will be out this afternoon to celebrate the return of the league title.

Over a million estimated by the usually conservative police, could be as many as 1.5 million.

The feeling of unity among different groups of people is what makes this club so special, and it’s really obvious to everyone watching this.

This club is so much more London than any other, and always was.

Amen.

Officially the biggest parade in this country's history, with an estimated 1.5M people attending.

Declan Rice: “They pointed and they laughed, they aint laughing now. I love this club and I love this manager. Its incredible the joy we can give people. Next year we are coming for so much more, so lock in or get locked out”

by Hoopie1

Looool

1.5mill for a trophy parade is wild though. Wonder how many just ran into it not knowing what's going on.

Seen some vids, seemed to have been a wholesome enough event.

Not that the party is done. What is everyone's priority for the summer signings wise?

One or two elite or elite potential LW/AM, depending on sales. Attacking RB. MF like Wharton to share LM with Myles. New second keeper.

I was there yesterday. Have to say I feel it was due to the fact we have not won it for so long everyone came out and from all over the UK. For me it is a 2 hour drive into London and the service stations were packed with fans from all over. Proper party atmosphere and everyone was talking to everyone, even randoms on the tube congratulated us. I have a LOL sample size of 1 to compare to so I cannot say if this was different to others but I may have to wait until I am dead to see if Spurs ever get to compare it to ours.

LW and RW upgrades are a must. If they can play ST in there it is a plus.

I gotta admit I kind of lost touch with the new gen of players so my scouting is limited to olden names that, checking now, mostly are retiring or already retired.

Anytime I've seen Wharton play he was quality - he is definitely moving this summer. Not sure who the next world-beating winger is apart from the PSG fella, but I'm sure they have no desire to sell.

I trust Bertra and LegoPep, but I would be disappointed with Chelsea reject signings or such. We need to make Rice level signings on different spots.

Also in my dirty fantasies I can see Rashford joining as a budget option if he has the workrate (I know it is heavy cognitive dissonance after the Chelsea reject comments). But that is a squad depth signing at most and not THE SIGNING if that makes sense.

They missed the opportunity to be in a prime position for a Championship win next year.

Kind of jelly that you were there, I was thinking of going, but then I checked the prices of flights. Usually 30-40 quid gets you to London and back - now it was several hundred pounds...then I realized everyone was flying from Budapest back due to the UCL final so it was a hard skip.

Part of the reason why Barca opted to pay €80m for Gordon instead of €30m for Rashford is that his wages make him extremely expensive. That being said, United may be keen to offload him and pay some of his wages.

I never thought the Sterling loan was a bad move. Obviously it didn't work out, but Arsenal essentially paid nothing for him and there was a chance that he could have offered something.
