PLO cash at Wynn: player announces other players cards
1-2/5 plo Game.
2 guys all in, first guy tables his hand, was bluffing with blockers but also made 2 random small pairs.
Dealer is looking at the hand, clearly confused, now another player (not in the hand) tries to help her, by showing her the 2 pair (she wanted to announce the hand, but wasn’t sure)
All the while the other player in the hand (big whale, obviously bad player) is also staring at the tabled hand and also his hand, trying to figure out if he can beat it.
Now he finally tables, and actually has higher 2 pair.
Now guy complains, thst other player but also dealer should never announce the tabled hand, floor gets called , and it is ruled, that the dealer is supposed to do that … even if player 2 has not yet showed his hand.
Thoughts?

standard, but may depend on procedures in the room.
typically a dealer can/should read a hand as soon as it's tabled, but some prefer to wait until it's contested. other player can also ask "what does he have" at any time and dealer should read it.
Such a weird thing to have floor called over for, because what are you going to gain from it? Some rooms might have in their dealer procedures to not read & announce tabled hands until at least 2 hands are tabled. I have worked at a room that did have that, but I personally never had any gripes over reading/announcing hands immediately.
Imagine if dealers at PLO kept to this rule & procedure, how slow some showdowns would be.
In bigger NLH games, it's customary to not announce hands unless asked or all hands are shown. In smaller games, especially PLO, I always announce. Players want it and it keeps the game moving.
It's unlikely the other player was going to muck in this hand anyway. They were trying to find something that beat them so they wouldn't have to show and they weren't finding it. All not announcing is going to do is drag things on longer.
My thought is that this guy is ****ing miserable.
Dealer is 100% correct to read hands as they are tabled.
Well, the dealer did not do that, so another player (not in the hand) helped her out.
I also thought that was not correct.
Thing is: if the whale is not capable of reading the tabled hand correct (or simply tabling his own hand, for the dealer to read it) …
When only one hand is tabled, that’s the winning hand, there’s no reason to read it.
If the other player wants the dealer to tell him if his hand is better than the yanked hand, he should also take his own hand.
Then the dealer can read them.

If a hand is tabled at showdown, any player can read (and verbalize) it. In fact, occasionally another player may even be obligated to verbalize it if he thinks a mistake is being made (or the player declared his hand wrong).
Yes, sometimes other players read the hand incorrectly and it can be annoying.
It make take some time to read the hand. It won't be instant as someone in this thread stated, especially if there's 4 cards per player to look at.
Once again the moral of the story is to always show your hand at these situations so that your tabling a winner if you have it.
