Sounds like a blast!!

I’ve completely lost the urge to play. Last session was February when I was in Vegas for a conference.

Last session before that was October iirc.

Hmm, I always assumed you were playing private games

I had basically two years away from poker while I was working through getting the house ready to sell and the divorce and everything else. I’ve been ‘back’ since Sept and am actually really enjoying it. Running pure probably helps but I’m actually doing some study and enjoying the process too.

Can’t wait til I blow 200 hours of profits in a week of mtts next month!

I'm with miami (though in tiny stakes). Will go play home games and the bar-poker league when I'm not dealing, but just splashing around. Purely for entertainment now.

I've found I'm at the point where I can play decently for about an hour, run up a little bit, then get bored and lose focus.

When I play it’s almost always private, Vegas was public. I had the option to play some private games when I was there but decided to take a redeye home instead of staying the extra day.

How’s the newish lady friend? You doing good?

telegram has a desktop app, it's my preferred way to transfer files and photos from phone to pc

Holy crap. I record my inane guitar noodling on my phone and have spent a lot of time trying to find a good way to do this, without success.

Anyways, this is works and is very easy.

I owe you a coke.

it's going well, she's nice. it's been 15 months now & pretty much drama free, which is not nothing given we've both been navigating our own separations with all the **** that goes with that.

thanks for asking

fw are you moved in yet?

been cohabitating over here since last october - going great

Love to hear that. Very happy for you even if that means we can’t share a room anymore.

no & that won't happen any time soon.

We've both been the main wage earners losing giant amounts of $$ in divorces & putting all of your money back in with someone else isn't something that you do lightly. Plus I still have two of my kids living with me full time & a third who stays with me ft in the college vacations, so it would be complicated too - her kids have pretty much left home.

We stay over with each other a few times a week & see each other most days (we live 2 mins away from each other) but no plans to move in. I don't mind that tbh - good to be left wanting more & to look forward to it. tbh, she's quite a free spirit, so I would actually think there's a good chance she goes overseas to work/live in the next few years.

We're both buying our own places. I've bought a place of my own recently that I'll move into in late June & she's got an offer in on something but will buy soon too.

My guess is that if it happens down the track, we would lease out both of ours & then rent something together but I would think that would happen a few years into the future.

that's good for you - your gf has a kid I think you said? is he/she with her the whole time?

yeah full custody except for every other weekend, her ex is a real loser. poo poos on everything, thinks everything sucks, thinks he's better than everything, a real woe is me type. nothing is ever his fault, every failure is somebody else's doing. classic covert narcissist - i'm more used to the grandiose kind, who at least have some reason for their ideology, often being exceptionally attractive and/or talented

for those of you who do have partners or family members who are narcissists, it's not the arrogance that is the problem, arrogance is not what makes a narcissist, it's the inability to see themselves making a mistake, they can't be at fault for anything, which means everyone around them carries the blame for everything that goes wrong

he's out of her life, but the bad thing is you can see the kids emulating him. if they lose in a video game it's because the guy who killed them is an idiot obviously, don't bother seeking out the logic. when i ask wouldn't it be worse to lose to an idiot than a talented player they just retort "that's what dad always says"

she and i actually gel really well partly because we both came out of long relationships with narcissists. i tease her sometimes, "at least my partner was a hot and successful horrible person"

over the last few years of being single i started actively avoiding single moms in their 30s but after a lot of trial and error figured out that if i were to date an age appropriate woman without kids it's one of the three below

a) she never wants kids
b) she's a terrible partner
c) both - most common

i plan on having kids of my own so a is a non starter, and dating in my early 40s was depressing because everyone was so much younger we just didn't connect or they were a, b, or c. so later on while you'd still obviously prefer they don't come with that baggage attached, lack of kids would actually be a major red flag, so when she mentioned pretty early on that she had two kids it didn't bother me one bit

i get along with the boys pretty well and if there's any conflict i can just remember i win in the end, because i'll be banging their mother after she puts them to bed

honestly i feel on top of the world. we get along better than i have with anyone, and i remember vividly driving to meet her the first time, after we'd hit it off so well on the phone. her photos were fine but they were the kind where you can't really tell, either a very modest woman or one trying to obscure what she looks like, and you know from experience it's usually photos 10 years and 65 pounds ago. so i was bracing myself, asking how low i could set the bar given how fun she was to talk to. then i hear my name outside the bar, turn around, and turns out it was the modest version

lucked out in every direction on this one

re age appropriate

mostly because this is tiring

It’s hard when we have a “coach” is a level below Jamal Mosley, JB Bickerstaff and Mike Brown.

Honestly multiple levels below Brown.

welp GG Cavs. But look on the bright side, this will make Lehbron's inevitable return and title run next year even sweeter!

I’m actually looking forward to The Return Part 2: This is for You starring LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, coached by Whoopi’s Goldberg playing Eddie and guest appearances by Bill Murray, Ira Newble and The Rock

How do we serve the fallen?

Silly me I thought that once you die, the case dies with it. Or are some lawyers really this "special"?

No, the case often transfers to the estate of the deceased, especially in civil cases.

So does that make it easier or harder to collect a judgment? Assuming the deceased has an estate that could pay out the judgment. Guess I’m wondering if litigants get priority like that.
