Arsenal winning the prem on my birthday was pretty cool!
Gotta admit, at certain points this season I thought it was over (the 2-2 at Wolves was the lowlight of the season).
After the 2-1 loss at Etihad I felt strangely confident for some reason. Wasn't always pretty or comfortable, but the defense really buckled down for the final few games, and 1 goal felt like it was good enough.
Besides Rice, David Raya was the player of the season for me.
I wonder whats Iraola's next club is going to be
The bookies favorite is crystal palace but surely there will be bigger clubs

David Raya has been absolutely incredible and I got him horribly wrong. I wasn’t necessarily sold on Ramsdale but also didn’t see a reason to replace him. Clearly I was wrong as he has been incredible.
Tottenham manager booked for stepping outside of the technical area. He should put a roll neck jumper on, it allows you to play as an auxiliary full back without any interference from the officials.
Also, what Delap got away with was disgusting.
This makes it even funnier. This is simply amazing. Like a fat police officer hiding behind a lamp pole funny. And the fact they miss out on the final because of this makes it hilarious. I would also like to see the footage. No way you can get anything useful from an angle like that behind a tree.
Also Tottenham relegation may still be on the cards if both West Ham and Everton win. Shame that with a draw Spurs are safe, which dare I say they will likely get at home to Everton.
West Ham winning is not a life insurance either.

Pretty shocked that Southampton were actually booted over this. I thought they'd get a slap on the wrist. And now their own players are thinking about suing them? What a mess.

The appeal is happening today and the FA or whoever are planning on giving a decision the same day.
Also Cucarella getting away with wrestling VDV to the ground because "the ball wasn't in play" despite the ball being in play for about half of the maneuver including actually taking him to ground is such a ****ed up rule.
Such a stupid rule to begin with, the whole it cant be a foul if the ball isnt in play
Players should test out how strongly that rule applies by going full MMA on eachother when the corner hasnt been taken yet
You stop a possibly dangerous run by holding on to someone its a clear foul, no matter if the ball is or isnt in play yet. Well at least, thats my opinion.
What could they appeal though? I read that they admitted to spying before a handful of games. They're going to appeal the sentence is too harsh even though they fully admit the wrongdoing?

Yes exactly. They didn't contest the charge but they claim that the punishment is disproportionate.
Whole thing feels grubby. I'm big on ethics/standards so I'm not too upset that we've had the book thrown at us. I don't think there's any big advantage gained, which makes it all the more stupid that we'd risk it.
I imagine we'll sack the manager asap too.

There's some good players in this side that will probably get picked off now as well. It's pretty amazing given how poor your early results were as well.
Does it matter for whichever rule they broke (and the severity of the punishment?) that the dude is caught filming or does it only make the wrongdoing clearer? Is a guy with notepad just as bad? Or someone knowledgeable who can remember who and what they saw?

The games they admitted to spying in do make me raise eyebrows... It just so happens that the only 3 games they did it in all season were against Boro (9th May, when they were caught) and 2 others (Ipswich 28th April, Oxford 21st March) that they didn't win anyway.
Combined with a manager who has openly stated that it happens in every game in Germany, my cynical side is pointing to them doing this a lot and only admitting to it when caught and to 2 other games that allow them to argue that it hasn't helped them.
Yeah I find it very difficult to believe that this happened only three times (over a six month period). For the purposes of punishment, I think they should probably assume that we've been doing it since Eckhart took over.
