Harden has been good the last 3 games.

The Thompson brothers are the best wing defenders in the league right now. Put them in whatever order you want. I don't even think that is even a warm take. It's too bad they are both hard capped overall due to the fact that neither one has a functional outside shot.

They are top tier athletic (top 1% I'd say) in the NBA, which is, in itself, a collection of top tier athletes.

Isn’t there a post itt of a tweet saying amen is the goat athlete in nba history?

Curious to see why Duncan Robinson missed the game and I see "low back soreness".

I thought those were reserved for a back-to-back in March not for game 6 of the Conference Semifinals

It's pretty simple now. Pistons formula for winning this series is for Harden to play bad the next two games. Is it probable? No. Is it plausible? Yes.

so i guess im siding with chilltown and rooting for james harden now.

When they develop a jumper, both of them will be minimum 2nd Team All NBA.

You talk about them developing a jumper as if it is an inevitability, but I'm not sure it is, especially for Ausar. Both guys have been in the league for three years now, and both have shot below 30% from the field for their careers on shots outside of 10 feet. I'll concede that they don't take many shots in that range, but there is certainly a reason why.

Ausar is a career 60% FT shooter. That's surely bottom 5% for wings in the league.

I agree re their athleticism. Truly astonishing.

Right, why do people just assume you can "develop a jumper" years into your NBA career when you've been playing basketball for 20 years already. if it was that easy, they'd have developed it already

You have people like Brook Lopez who were never shooting 3's and developed a 3point shot but he was shooting 80% from the line constantly in his career

You just don't see wings who are awful/non-willing shooters all of a sudden turn into 3-point jumpshooters years into their career in this day & age

I'm afraid the twins ceiling is A+ defensive player and B offensive players (right now they're a C)

Amen is a much better offensive player right now than his brother. And he probably has a better chance of developing a semi-functional jump shot.

The A+ rating as defensive players has already happened imo.

It all started with Bruce Bowen

We drafted MKG 2nd overall hoping he would develop a jumper. Instead, he developed one of the worst elbow hitches I've ever seen.

We were robbed of the Kemba/AD duo. New Orleans ****ed us again.

We could have also had Beal or Lilliard.

agreed they're A+ right now. they still have a bit of room to improve their offensive game but I have no hope for the long-range shooting hence the capped ceiling. But still going to be very nice players

Explained this to a friend recently almost verbatim. I think it is because these days almost everyone on the court is a decent shooter if they aren't a big. So when someone is good at everything else but not shooting, it is just easy for people to make the connection they can get to being a decent shooter since everyone else is. They just need to "work on it", as if they haven't already since they were like 12 in some AAU bball factory setting.

But I feel like for the most part the bad shooters never got much better, although some did get a little better. But even someone like Rondo, his AAU/college days were like 2000-2005 or whatever, he probably just didn't work on it as much then. Thompson twins were in HS when Steph Curry had already changed the game for awhile.

Jason Kidd too

Perception wise anyway. His stats don't deviate like Bowen's.

More and more, it seems like teams rely on FT% as an indicator of the extent to which a player will be able to develop an outside shot. In other words, if a player's jump shot appears to lag behind his FT%, then NBA types tend to assume that the jump shot will catch up. That's why people expect that Cooper Flagg eventually will get his 3 PT% into average territory.

But as I mentioned before, that metric isn't much comfort for Ausar. He is a very poor FT shooter, especially for a wing.

seriously?

Random thought :

Lebron should retire when he stops averaging 20 ppg.

That's the magic number for me.

or maybe he should play until he's worse than bronny

That's exactly the number Jordan retired on.

I think it would be cool if LeBron found a winning role on a team, similar to what he was doing when the Lakers were healthy in February and March. A role like that he could be a 16/6/6 type guy for a potential contender still. Any team he has to do more than that on at this stage isn't going far.

Oldest NBA player record of 45 years is def. being passed then.

I really wonder what contract extension they will command...? not many precedents/comparable players with recent extensions...

NBA Draft trade rumor:
Ace Bailey + #2 pick for Wiz #1 pick. Jazz take Dybantsa who they reportedly really really really want.
then Wiz take Darryn Peterson and pair him with Bailey. Win/Win deal.

crazy draft rumor:
AD + #1 for JJJ + #2 pick.

darryn peterson creatine "story" is likely BS and he had a mystery physical illness that (i forget the exact name) which was from overwhelming/strenuous physical activity

he says creatine 2 days before the combine to spin his own narrative.
if the truth gets out he could maybe slide to #6, where the nets absolutely would have to take him.

They're better, but guy that comes to mind is Dyson Daniels.

He just got 4/100 after a career year.

8th overall pick (so a single tier lower as a prospect) and on his second team with much less fanfare. I would think if you ratio it comparatively they'd get something like 32-35 AAV.
