USA Goes to War Against Iran
Time for a dedicated thread to the war.
How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?
Lets add another blockede to the straights.
That'll show then
France sends its most powerful warship through the Suez Canal toward the Strait of Hormuz with 20 Rafale jets on board
France’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle passed through the Suez Canal in early May 2026 and is now steaming south through the Red Sea toward the Strait of Hormuz. President Emmanuel Macron confirmed the deployment publicly, describing it as preparation for a potential maritime security mission near one of the world’s most critical oil transit chokepoints.
Macron supplied the strategic context. According to the Associated Press, the French president said the carrier strike group is heading into the Red Sea in preparation for a “potential mission” tied to maritime security around the Strait of Hormuz. His language was deliberate: “potential” leaves room for the group to adjust its posture depending on conditions, and no French official has publicly outlined a timeline, rules of engagement, or coordination with allied forces.
I am hearing that a Γ“ghost shipΓ” has arrived at Diego Garcia. This ship is said to be a black ops carrier. It was last seen off the coast of Venezuela before the Maduro operation. This ship officially doesnΓ’t exist according to the military. This could be an indication that a major operation is in the works. Also, there appears to be an oil spill off the co
Serious question. Why do you always frame these sorts of posts as if you are a reporter revealing information that you received from a confidential informant? You can just say, "some random guy in my social media feed said X."
"People are saying..."
I did see something about some stealth ship arriving in Diego Garcia fwiw
It can't be all that secret though it has a Wikipedia page

Talks are obviously going nowhere. Let’s get the bombing started again. They say they have many new targets. Keep the blockade on. Hit the bridges, hit the electrical, hit the shore area near Hormuz. I don’t wanna hear Trump say they are having good talks. Maybe there is a Delta force operation in the works.

I mean, it's a little results orientated at this point but it's not like the US is waiting around for Iran to produce some grand proposal that ends the war. You could certainly argue that ceasefires for the US have functioned as creating windows of opportunity to where the US and allies can reposition and prepare while both keeping diplomacy going and limiting attacks to accomplish said objectives. We literally are watching France enter in a carrier with 20 Rafales on board. I would imagine that Iran knows this to at least some degree.
Im sure the US would love to keep the ceasefire and the "negotiation window" open for the exact amount of time that they'd prefer from a military perspective - but that doesn't mean they've become patient and good listeners. Also, mediators and the war machine aren't the same.
Actually, the key is they dont actually negotiate at all. They just refuse to budge at all and wait for you to move to a position they find acceptable. Worked very well with Obama and the JPCOA. So far not working as well with Trump.
Yes yes. Conservatives are realpolitikal heroes and masters of all things, and everyone else are lefties who are too busy sucking their thumbs to get anything done.
American conservatism gave US Hegseth, Trump, Widkoff and Kushner. They are bumbling ****s, and their positions the result of a political movement so navel-gazing that it has lost all ability to punish incompetence and reward excellence.
When you embrace extremist nihilism, and are completely indifferent to the welfare of the 90 million people you purportedly represent, not to mention hundreds of millions more in the region, it gives you a lot of leverage.
Imagine if anybody had known this shocking fact before the war.
Who knows how true it is, but reports are it is actually the GCC's who pressured Trump to respond to Iranian aggression yesterday. They were upset he was willing to shrug off the recent Iranian attacks on UAE energy infrastructure.
They've found a situation that shows the limits of bribes to Trump and his administration, which is Trump's unwillingness to be held accountable for failures. Meanwhile, 30 years of greasing the wheels of foreign policy by buying expensive military hardware for paper armies have left them extremely vulnerable if regional war becomes reality.

Would the US be willing to negotiate on something they perceived to be of existential importance? I don't think so.
So far, Trump has been just as stubborn as the Iranian regime.

As have been discussed before, European powers are likely positive to a policing mission, but reluctant to be part of war operations beyond allowing use of bases, and even that is a hot potato.
In part it is due to capacity and capability. European blue water fleets have not exactly been well funded for the last three decades. Even the American navy is not really equipped to deal with the new reality of war, so it is hard to imagine that European naval forces which suffers from a past economic broken back can do much at all in such a scenario. Re-building such capacity is underway, but it will take a long time to get there.
In part it is diplomatic. It is simply impossible to trust Trump II. His foreign policy is erratic to the level of mad kings and for sale to the highest bidder, which makes joint operations difficult for a continent which loves predictability. Granted that US operations and policy is more than Trump, so it is still possible to cooperate. It is however extremely difficult if it involves matters which have Trump's attention span.
In part it is political. Trump is a toxic brand in large parts of Europe, and his instinct to plasters his name on anything American does the US few favors. European politicians also have to consider their electorate.
wouldn't intentionally hitting civilian infrastructure be a war crime?
French carrier group taking on new meaning, now?
If the French-led European task force attacks anything at all, it will be Iranian offensive anti-shipping assets, which are difficult to pinpoint (patrol boats and drone or missile launchers), but the presence in-theatre of a powerful non-American and so far non-belligerent air group, with considerable reconnaissance capability, and a considerable ability to defend itself, might make the Iranians a bit shyer.
The UK will chair a meeting of European defence ministers tomorrow. Just talk, and it might not go anywhere, but then again it might. The Strait has to be opened and the US is not succeeding either by force or by diplomacy.
Ayo rapist, you gonna show your work on any of your accusations against me or are you hoping enough time will pass that people will forget you’re just a lying piece of **** who rapes?

My guess is Mongo will never acknowledge that he lied to us even though the DM that he sent Coordi literally proves he is a liar.

Your allegations of rape are fake.
Ironically, you have posted in these forums that you peed on a female. What a depraved thing to do. Did you feel like you had power over this lady? Was she just a disgusting subhuman to you. Is this why you are projecting the way you do?
I havenβt found yet where you shared the DM sent to Coordi but Iβll continue to look urine boy.
Are you going to deny this as well?
SRM peeing on people is the least surprising thing I've heard today
