English Football Season 2025-2026. Here we go again.
Welcome 2+2 to the English football season of 2025-2026.
This year I am going to make the thread officially for all of E
spurs: @ chelsea, v everton
wham: @ newcastle, v leeds
essentially a 3 point lead considering goal difference, it's joever :(
if lolarse manage to beat qsg this'll go down as the woat season
Who had Woking manager on Monday Night Football on their bingo card?
Absolutely bent ref. Not even the big calls, just giving Leeds every little thing and us nothing. Caps it off by giving nothing when they clear out Maddison in a dangerous position. I’m surprised RdZ didn’t punch him in the face honestly.
lol, I've seen people claiming that it's rigged against us, rigged for us, and specifically rigged against West Ham in the last few hours
Me saying it always was that way was not regarding the level of grappling, that certainly increased.I was talking about safe refereeing where they are much likely to give the free kick to the defensive side and not the attacking side. As long as ive been watching football, which is almost 30 years, i have always seen this and never liked it.Then again, i am an attacker myself s
ah, ok. yeah i agree with bold, though in one of the games i was watching recently (forget which) the ref was calling it straight up, refusing to bail out the defensive team when there was no foul, it was pretty great ngl. i wish that was the standard. if there's a foul call it sure, but i can't stand when, for example, the keeper just throws himself into the sea of players attacking the ball and falls over, and the ref reflexively gives him the decision
i took your name out of that post because i wasn't trying to put you on blast or anything, rather respond to that sentiment which has been expressed by many that it's always been like this, which i disagree with. saw that lolarse just broke the prem record for most goals from corners shared by oldham (1992-93) and wba (2016-17). i couldn't find any vids of oldham corner goals, but if you look at these west brom/watford highlights there's almost no nonsense going on (though looks like zonal marking from watford). a little hand fighting, but mostly just people fighting for position and going for the ball. nothing like the bearhugs and chokeholds and shirt-grabs etc we see today. a better world is possible if they inform everyone that they'll go back to enforcing the rules.
here's hoping
i searched what the lowest ranked former premier league team there was and found it was oldham so i played them in fm24, progressed up rapidly but was super annoyed because by the time i reached the premier league and could finally get real players, almost all the recognizable names were retired
I've just seen the Kinsky heroics from last night. I think that IF any Spurs player deserve this its him
I am hoping for it to be -10 here on Sunday so I can go outside with no shirt on and pretend to be a Geordie.
Howay the lads.
I’d rather stab my eyes out with a rusty nail than watch that.
Just when I thought FIFA couldnt get any worse
Trump's tariffs have been harsh but hitting them with a Ferdinand/Corden duo is brutal. Not sure the Americans will recover from this.
Lol. A nuclear war can still save us from the Cordinand
Also great Kavanagh vid. He is definitely invited to the parade
VAR's reputation is in the bin, and it needs to follow. Even when it gets a tough decision right (foul on Raya) it's widely accused of incompetence or bias.
Just checking in with the Southampton game - the 5th minute goal to Middlesborough should be your usual early min goal against a big club for that big club to then run over the top with a 2-1, 3-1 win etc
My god this officiating in favour of Soton is terrible
lol apparently THB made fun of Ayling's stutter that's what that whole thing was about
Sort of hoping for a shoot out now given the quality we have and also our keeper
The spite on display last night was a joy to behold, it's a shame they won't face each other again next season.
