The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet
As a newly BC resident 3 years I saw that for the first time ever more folks left BC than moved here.
That's what happens with David Eby at the helm
Damn the government here does some crazy stuff compared to Alberta

I suspect you are out of date. Interprovincial migration returned to net positive in BC for the last three quarters. In contrast, we expect population decline in BC not because of interprovincial migration but because of reduced immigration to Canada of international students etc, the thing you are all cheering for.
Outside of one particularly worrying court case where every party is on board with ensuring the tail risk from that court case doesn't pass, what are these particularly crazy things?
lmao you are the most frothingly overdramatic poster ITT by a mile.
Not the stupidest, though, so that's something.
While I don't question your intellect, you certainly are competing for that title as well. If anything has become obvious the last couple of days it's that Ottawa has absolutely no clue about the numbers regarding immigration and you blindly keep repeating them as gospel and calling people like me, who have questioned them for years, stupid.
So no professor, this isn't a win for you. It's another epic fail from the Canadian government.
Fewer people are having babies in Canada and the U.S. and the government is out of ideas
I know what the professor thinks is a solution.

I look at building codes as one , transfer tax on properties, no airbnb's( more local) failure to recognize other provinces certifications, protectionist provincial trade
Yeah that worrying court case that you said was a nothing matter that has led to folks not being able to get mortgages and development plans scrapped
I was watching Global BC this morning and they finally evicted a homeless dude that has been living there for years. The moment he set up camp should have been gone

Are you incapable of reading? I said last three quarters were net interprovincial migration growth. That article was Jan 2025.

Oh ok. None of that sounds particularly crazy. I can't comment on building codes. Transfer tax on property sale is true of most provinces, Alberta and Saskatchewan are the exception not the rule. You can debate it, but not crazy. Airbnb restrictions seemed likely a fairly natural response to the housing crisis, again debatable but not crazy. BC does accept a huge swath of certifications from other provinces, my goodness. Trudeau signed and Carney expanded the Canada Free Trade agreement, the blocks on "protectionist provincial trade" are now fairly small things like alcohol. None of this seems particularly crazy.

What on earth are you talking about? I'm mocking you for your over-the-top "Luigi them all" type language, I didn't say anything about immigration numbers. Heck, I talked about that precise reported quoted in your article when it originally came out ITT, so you can't just imagine I'm blindly doing anything. I have zero issues with increasing efforts to track entrants and exits - I don't precisely know the logistical challenges but I'm broadly supportive. Good for Carney.

And gee wiz can't you do a pink card for Insurance
I post a few times a week, if that itt, to call this an obsession is a bit much professor.
Why wouldn't it be I am a strong supporter of the 3SGOMMMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+PSP community
Had to add a P as we don't want the pedophiles left out
I think Professor is a good term for Uke as he thinks he is smarter than all of us

Plenty of ideas to fix the global climate! But out of ideas to fix Canadas declining birth rates.
It’s a kind of funny thing where you guys get called out for something (say mocking “three spirit people”😉 and the response is to just quintuple down on it and now insert it into every post. Like do you think it’s….uh….clever?

So your saying that someone can not believe they are 3 spirited but 2 spirited is OK ?
It reminds me of a phase my 8 year old had when he was about 3. If you explained why a certain behaviour was wrong, he would just do that behaviour more and more and thought he was SO clever to do.
He grew out of that ****.

Just like a child that says their trans they will grow out of it 😀
I'm basically wondering if Canadian universities are just another example of poorly ran institutions who are bringing in heaps of money but somehow claim they need to charge international students 50k a year to ''subsidize'' domestic students while charging them between 7k to 15k a year.
First thing I thought of when reading the Conestoga audit. Bet Conestoga isn't the only one.
Stop inventing strawmen. Just as nobody* is confused that "free school" means the government is paying for it through taxation etc, nobody* is confused that meat at a grocery store comes from animals, just as nobody* is confused that biological males don't have children to throw in one more of your favourite bugaboos.
Forgot about this post until I heard hog producers are lobbying to keep hogs in smaller cages in the USA . Also you think that cow in line waiting to get a bolt in his brain doesnt know whats coming
As a non hunter how anyone can think hunting is crueler than a factory farm even if the kill is not immediate

From a post of mine last year:
It's always seemed to me that foreign students is one of the silliest places to cut. Education is an export. Canada makes money - tonnes of money - off of immigrants coming in and dumping all their sky high tuition dollars. It lowers costs for domestic students. I'll be the first to point out problems with some of the more diploma mill type places like conestoga college etc. Bu
Notice that I was calling out conestoga college long before this audit, which is disappointing but sadly not surprising. However, I want to draw a clean line in the sand. The international student facing diploma mill colleges (and no, they are not the only one, but they are the largest) are VERY very different from the medical and comprehensive universities - or even from most reputable colleges. In your quote where you speculate about "Canadian universities" being poorly run, there is night and day between proper universities and diploma mill colleges like this.
