Long weekend in Sin City
Time for another trip!
No family this time. Just me and a female degen friend of mine. Plan is to fly from London 1st M
So after the first handpay of this trip J asked me if we could she could go and do the tourist thing and see the Las Vegas sign. I was not too fussed but actually wanted to go to the pinball hall of fame so decided to get a taxi with her.

She was going to wait in the line for a picture with the sign and I explained you don't actually have to and that you can just have one from any angle and took the picture for her. Amazing to see some tourists fall for the trap of paying people to take a picture for them.
The pinball hall of fame was amazing. We accidentally killed two hours there and somehow managed to only spend $20 in quarters. I was so glad I finally decided to take the time to go as it's worth it a million times over and more.

Now a decision was made here at this point in the day and it was a tiring one!
We both decided to ride the rollercoaster at New York New York. Myself I love rollercoasters and had never done this so we made the walk there but included a degen challenge on the way. The challenge was to stop at every casino we could on the way back to our hotel and double $100.
So first stop. Mandalay Bay. I go to old faithful BC and double up in a few rolls. J selects a slot Piggy Riches and loses pretty quickly. 1-0 to me.

Stop 2 was the Luxor. I try and find the craps machines but 2 were broken and the other had a couple on it. There was a free easy craps machine which everyone should avoid as the payouts are terrible. However I decided to stick to the game and play the easy craps machine. After 6 or 7 rolls I find the double I was looking for. J decides to switch up to roulette, sticks $100 on black and sees it land in red. 2-0 to me!
We headed over to the Excalibur for a walk around and I forget how much I hate this place. It stinks of rotten fart, carpets need replacing and it just overall a run down place. Wanting to make this a quick one I put my $100 into the BC machine stick it on the field bet. Luck is on my side and we roll a 3. J continues her dire luck on this trip putting $100 into the BJ machine and loses it all first hand when the dealer has BJ. That makes it 3-0 to me.
The rollercoaster at New York New York was actually incredibly fun. Only $25 for one ride but we both enjoyed it and again must should be one of those things you do when out here to say you have done it. Back to our challenge and I am sticking with BC. J goes first this time and says she wants to try BC. We find a machine and she point 7 outs right away. At stage I am feeling bad for her now. I know she has been totally rinsed playing slots this trip already and it seems everything she touches turns sour. I use the same machine as her stick my $100 and double again. 4-0 to me and we both decided to end it there and she will pay for dinner.
We walk back to the Horseshoe from New York New York stopping off for a bit of shopping at a few places to get some things for ourselves and families.

Part 2 of the day to be continued
The rollercoaster at New York New York was actually incredibly fun. Only $25 for one ride but we both enjoyed it and again must should be one of those things you do when out here to say you have done it.
You are a brave man. I would never go on that thing, unless someone paid me $5k or something to do it.
NYNY Rollercoaster pro-tip: Go at sunset. Great view west when you are outside and high up. Definitely adds to the experience.
Part 2 of Saturday (yes a little behind I know)
We both decided to rest a bit in our rooms after that long walking around but after 20 mins I cannot rest anymore I have to get to the tables
They have changed the felt on the main craps table at the horseshoe to include the boom or bust. I cannot resist this sucker bet. The rolls are awful just totally awful and I am down bad quickly.
Already tilting I move away from the table as maybe I am bringing the vibe down I don't know. I message J saying I need to get out again and do something. She suggested something called the infinity museum which she had seen online.
I snap booked tickets and said yeah let's do it so she heads downstairs and while I wait I see at the BC machine.
I posted the picture earlier in the thread and turn $200 into $1700. That's better but I am going to have to record how many times BC bails me out.
We get a taxi to the infinity museum and I will admit this place is not what I expected but it's awesome! If you are next in town go and visit it.
It's a mirror, light and photography experience which just blows your mind. You walk through some of this like you are on some kind of drug fuelled trip.

This experienced killed so much time, took me off tilt and definitely gave me that little reset that was needed away from the degen life.
At the end of this experience we got a taxi back to the hotel via mint dispensary as I needed to get some help with my sleep as I had been up for so long!
Dinner that evening was at the hole in the wall. Had to go for the chicken parm. Zero pictures taken as my phone had died and I had left it in my room to charge. Come 9pm I was done and headed to bed. As you may have seen I walked alot that day on very little sleep.

Quit job, become bubble craps pro, imo
Yeah, I think it's an H1-BC Visa you'll want to sign up for.
Nice find!
Sunday (wow I am a little behind)
So as always my sleep sucks. Woke up at 2:30am. Tried to go back to sleep but the body was having none of it.
In the end I head downstairs for some more BC. It's cold and no matter what way I play it's wrong. Pass line press the numbers we 7 out within 3 or 4 rolls. Try the don't pass it goes on a god roll hitting points for fun. I kill a couple of hours and end up around 3k down.
Time for a break. Head over to the CVS, message J to find out if she is up and we go and get a coffee. As I needed to go out we go and find some breakfast. I was not really wanting anything too special for breakfast so head over to Dennies. It was ok, no pictures as my battery had died again.
I had the spa at Caesar's booked at 11am so spend nearly 3 hours there to get a massage, reset and come off the tilt I was feeling from losing on BC in the morning. This break was absolutely awesome. Came out of it feeling like a new man and ready to go back to war with the casino.
A quick trip to the room, arm myself with some cash and we head back to the BC machines. Funny how when you are feeling good the dice are good. I deposit $500 into the machine and start going on a run. Hit the make them all

After hitting that we keep going and I managed to spin this up to over $6k. The next few rolls are cold again and I give back another $1k. Idiot I think to myself but this is profit so we cash out

It was time for a little switch up so I head over to the crapless machine to see what that is like. Crapless I do enjoy as it feels no matter what rolls we are making money. Unless the dreaded big red of course. However with crapless there is no DP or lay on these machines if you are feeling things are going cold.
Anyway I stick $600 in this and start with $50 a number. The roll is insane! I am pressing everything that rolls and lose track of how much I made until I realised I could not press the next number as I was already on the $3k max bet! Ok that's a good point to regress. So I reset to $25 a number and next roll is a 7!! Yes we lost $250 but it's that great feeling of regressing at the right time.

I check the time and realise I best get ready as we had a reservation at Mon Ami at 7. It was 6:15pm and I had not showered or anything like that. Quick run up to the room to get ready I make it to meet up with J.

Run good confirmed when we get an outside table with a great view of the fountains. I had the steak frites with bernaise. This was actually the best meal I have had at Mon Ami in the few years I have gone there. Solid 8/10 and will be back.
J and I catch up on how she has been getting on and if she enjoyed the spa as well. It seems the spa did the same thing for her as it did for me as she showed me that she hit a few handpays as well on the slots and is no alot less down than what she was. Pretty much breakeven which is awesome.
Later that evening we go to Absinthe. We were lucky enough to be able to get front row tickets so out view of the show was incredible. I had seen it before but it's still amazing to watch again. The one downside for me was that I had the most annoying drunk woman known to man sat next to me. She was loud, obnoxious and nearly got kicked out at one point. The one waitress refused to get her any more drinks half way through the show. When the show ended her husband just got up and left her in her chair!! When we left we saw she was still sat there with security trying to escort her out.

After the show I just could not stay awake anymore so just ended it there. I know J stayed awake to play slots.
Monday (final day..........or is it) to follow
In all fairness I have looked at a few houses over here. For a Brit it looks like there is no red tape or anything for us to buy houses.
Could make it an air BnB and use it for future trips. Don't think I could live out in America as I like the UK too much.

That's an idea. Beware of scammy people that want to manage it for you. It's also going to be less convenient when you visit than a hotel room.
Monday the day to fly back......
Well that was the intentions anyway but I am having a great time and actually not ready to go.
Quick call to virgin and I swap the flight to Tuesday. Another call to the host and the additional night is comped, along with $400 of free play! Result.
Again I had been up since 3am and my sleep is just screwed. I am really feeling rough and know that with the stomach issue I had at the start of the trip I should take it easy.
Oh I should also add that J and I spoke in the morning about staying the additional night and all was good with her. Her room was comped as well for the night so it was a no brainer decision.
I head downstairs for some pits action and it's awful. So bad we give back 5k. Once again I am annoyed, on tilt and it's more with myself. So many times I have the "one more roll" mentality when I am on a big profitable roll and need to scale back. It's cost me too much this trip and I should be better at regressing. Probably common with all craps players I don't know but it's tilting non the less.
J messages me before I could head back up to the room to reload and asks if we could do something simple for breakfast. Fine by me and she messaged at the right time as I feel I could have donked off another 5k super quickly.
Breakfast of choice was McDonald's. No idea why but that's where we ended up and the less said about that the better.
Today was a day to explore Freemont a little. We got a taxi down and I showed J the other end of Vegas. We stopped at the El Cortez for a bit of a gamble and food. If any of you have not tried Hot Noods there then go and do it.

I have the chicken chow mein and Brussel sprouts and it's safe to say this was the best meal I have had in Vegas for a long time. Good service and tasty food. An easy 9/10 here and I will definitely be back.
J and I threw some dice and it was her first time playing on a table and throwing dice. Now for those craps players here the myth about virgin shooters must be true. She went on an utter god roll. What was funny to me anyway was that she was just playing the pass line only due to not wanting to embarrass herself asking to press bets if she said the wrong thing. Even though I did offer to help with this she said to just to leave it. I could easily tell the regret in that decision after she finally did roll a 7. I started her roll with $260 across and I think I had around $4k after the 7 and I reckon I had about $1100 on the table.
That's a bit back now from what I lost and instead of carrying on I said I should have a nap and J stays at the El Cortez to play some slots. I said I will come back after a couple of hours.
I head back to the room, try to nap and fail miserably. The noise coming from the flamingo pool party is insane and I know I am just going to get frustrated. So what do I do instead? Yeah that's right play some BC

We have now made back what we lost in the morning!
Pleased with the result I get back to the El Cortez to see J hit a big jackpot on Piggy Banking. She even had a crowd around her cheering it on which I thought was pretty cool.
A for a little background to the next part J is an artist and I explain that about 15 mins away is the arts district so she collects her money and we head over to the art factory. Thinking about it now carrying all that cash and heading over to that area may have not been the best idea but here we are.
The Art Factory is a little gallery displaying local artists work and most of it you can buy. We get chatting to one of the new artists there and she tells us about her work, why she has done it and we are amazed that her life story etc is very similar to J's. I won't bore you all with the personal details but it's incredible going all that way to find similar souls. They swap numbers, Instagram handles and god knows what else. Here is some of her art work she was happy for us to share

I also found some other artists work which I liked. The turkey dinosaurs were a personal favourite just because I thought it was funny

It's been a long day and we head back to the El Cortez for some drinks. The new bar area there is really well done and relaxing. We stopped gambling for the day now as I was super tired and headed back to the horseshoe for some tacos at the new place at the grand bizarre shops (Chilangos Tacos). Decent tacos here if I am honest with you.

Checking my Fitbit it looks like I was asleep by 9:20pm!!

Back home safe now but will sum up the last day
As you can see from the picture in the previous post I was up again at 4am! No matter what I tried I just could not get back to sleep so I head down to degen. We are up this trip and I want to lock a win so I was playing small on the BC machine. Same story as previous days, total and utter carnage. No matter what I do it is wrong and I soon find myself burning off 3k.
I leave and head back upstairs to sort out my bags etc. Get a message off J wanting to do breakfast. We head over to cafe americano at Caesars Palace, sit outside in the terrace area and receive some of the worst service I have ever experienced. The waiter talks to us like he does not want us there, he takes forever to get my drink (which was just a diet coke) and takes my order wrong. I clearly asked for medium rare steak which J cofirmed and he tries to argue with me that I asked for it to be well done when my steak arrives at the table more cremated than my dead Dad. On top of that the food was terrible, J left half of hers and for just over $100 for breakfast it was needless to say I did not leave a tip which again he looked annoyed at the fact. I will add that I tip super well when I am here in Vegas, probably far too much but whatever it is a holiday.
At this point I am just regretting staying the extra night. Eaten into my profit, had a crap breakfast and for some reason in loads of pain with my neck. What has been a good trip is freefalling into a steaming pile of crap. I said to J I need to cool off and she wanted to chill and do some shopping so I guess that works out well. We head over to the forum shops and probably spend far too much. Not sure if anyone is aware but Culture Kings has a "secret room" which we were asked if we wanted to see. This room has lots of 1 of 1 pieces of customised clothing in it and wow some of this was super cool. I wanted to take a picture but was asked if I refrained from doing so. But to sum this up there were items here that were $20,000 and upwards. I said to the guy of all the years I have come here I have never seen this secret room. He replied to me "yeah well it was only because of the lady you are here" Ouch that was cold!!! Anyway J bought herself a Baseball Cap that was 1 of 1 and $600.
We head over to the Venetian to show J around. I will have to say I enjoyed seeing her reactions to things due to it being her first time here. I remember alot of her reactions were the same as mine. On the way back we stopped for a bit of a gamble at the Linq. This has what I think is a terrible game but J loves it. The game in question is freefall roulette. For those who do not know the game it is a machine where the wheel spins but the ball drops like plinko and finally falls to the bottom of the wheel where it lands on a number. For the roulette purest in me it is a no but again like I said J was having fun and she was happy to lose a fair chunk. I head over to their BC machines and get a little tilted by the fact they have pre vig!!! I am playing the light side and getting smoked as per usual. Change it up to the dark side with $500 on the DP. My come out is a 4. Sigh that means I can 4x the odds here and top up so that I take the $2k odds.

We finally get the 7 but look at all those rolls!! What a complete sweat that was. The slot attendant comes over and makes some weird issue I have never had before when getting a handpay off these machines. She kept asking me what denom I was betting? I had no idea what she was talking about as I kept explaining this is not like a slot and there is no denom. She had to get someone else over who sorted it but then they started to have an issue with my ITIN number and tried telling me they would have to withhold tax. Ok I know they are doing their jobs but this is getting annoying as I do not get this problem at the Horseshoe and they are all CET. Anyway I take a breath, relax and they go to sort it. 20 mins later they come back saying I need to fill some more forms in as the person who set this all up at the Horseshoe has put that I am from the Ukraine not the UK. Another 30 mins later they come back with the cash. A whole hour to sort out a handpay.
We head back to the Horseshoe and I cannot get into my room, the door is rejecting my card. Head downstairs and they have not sorted out my late check out which I requested. They did this to me the last month so just a warning to anyone going double check with the staff they have sorted this out. There was a lady infront of me complaining that she is not getting her 4 free drinks a day and she is diamond plus. The lady explained that even though you are diamond plus you are not always going to get the drinks for free if you are not giving them any play. I am not sure if I should say this in the diamond in a day thread but it is looking like CET is cutting down on this promo! If they are not showing on your app you do not have them.
Bags packed and sent downstairs J and I meet at the bar and claim my 4 free drinks. At least I know with the play I have done I should get them. We do some accounting at the bar and I am now $2k up for the trip. With a few hours to kill what better thing to do in Vegas then more time in the pits. I take the 2k profit to the craps table. The session is aids, none of us could roll past 2 rolls. Someone switched up to play the DP and the shooter rolled a 7 and an 11. Thankfully it was good to see others suffer the same pain as me today. I get a 3k slot voucher and stick it into a BC machine. Well I torched that 3k pretty quickly as well and now find myself 3k down. Now this is the point where everyone says to you "so you stop right?" No the idiot in me thinks well all it takes to break even is a 3k baccarat hand to get back, because you know that it is how logical humans think?
Armed with 3k I buy into the high limit table. The lady says good luck and looks in amazement when I lump all my chips on the banker space. Of course I am not completely inhumane, I do put a $100 chip bribe on that slot as well. We all know bribes mean the dealers can rig the deck right? I get my cards and ask to see one of hers. It is a 4, alright not bad, we peel our one card and it is a picture. Not ideal so we ask to see her other card, I am sure you can all guess what it is knowing how this day has gone and you are correct if you think it was a 5. Arghhhhhhhhh we cannot win now and can only hope for a tie. We need to see a 4 sider here to have any hope of playing another hand. I squeeze, pray to the all the gods to see a 4 sider and I see an ugly looking jack looking over me like a smug git.
We are now 6k down this trip and that is me done. I am not donating anymore and accept the loss. The swing today has been around the $15k mark. J said we best head to the airport to see if we can get an upgrade. Yeah it was 4 hours early but it was for the best. I ask at the check in for any upgrades and we had been beaten already to them. We were there 4 hours early and the lady said 8 other people already got there. That takes some dedication!!
J and I were not even seated together on the way back. But hey look at it this way I think. The plane landed safely and I am alive to tell everyone about this aids day.
I have managed to sleep on it now and understand this is just the swing of high limit gambling and some days are going to be like this. One thing I have realised is that I need to stop playing when I am tired. My decision making is awful when I am not sleeping well and it is making me think about how to handle this next month for the WSOP. I am not going to enter any of the tournaments I have planned if I am just getting 4 hours sleep.
Anyway thanks for reading everyone who has done and sorry for not updating as often as I would have liked to.
Great eport. Thanks
Thanks for the TR, urbanwaste. Too bad about the last day, but it sounds as if you had a fun trip.
Thanks for the great read.
Sorry that extra day turned out to be more trouble than it was worth.
Still a fantastic TR! I for one appreciate the honesty. True Las Vegas regulars know that’s just how it goes sometimes in this town.
