Is leaving an online cash game at any time a “bitch move”

A friend of mine on the WPT Gold FB discussion group has been running bad recently he plays PLO. After finally having a good session and building a 1000 BB! stack he lost it all with a huge flush/straight wrap against an opponent with top set of kings.

I told him that since he is running bad he’s should consider leaving the game after he is up maybe 3-4-5 BIs and start on another table with a single BI. Basically lock up the score but continue playing and not risking everything all at once.

Another poster on the thread contributed and said that it is a “bitch move unless all original players that you started off with are gone or if you been there 4+ hours”

I completely disagree and feel that entering and leaving an online cash came whenever you want is one of the benefits of online cash games. There is nothing in terms of service that is against this and I do not think it is against any poker ethic.

Maybe this is true in a live home cash game where players are limited and leaving after making a big score is frowned upon. We all know that in casino cash game poker people hit and run all the time

please give me your opinion. Is leaving an online cash game at any time a “bitch move”

no, doesn't matter. and definitely don't get in 1000bb with a combo draw next time either.

As long as ur paying equal bigblinds...u can leave whenever u want.

GG supposedly does have an issue with this so I always worry a bit to leave after I double up.. but I think most poker sites it doesn't matter and nor should it - they have access to whole pool of players to win their money back from.

the essence of online poker is all about convenience.

play however you want. play with no pants on. play on drugs. yell at the computer screen when you win. and def quit when you feel like it.

Are we in a saloon with guns in the holster? There is a deontology for online poker? If somethings happening at home?
Obviously is not a funny thing when you face it but so it is.

Anyway, i do not get really also the "you double up, you go and start again with 100BB": If you are a winning player ( above average) you should be happy to have more money.
The only time when it could make sense is if you have a "strict 100 BB developed strategy".
Last, you are "running bad", ok, it happens a lot, but how you know that from the very next hand you'll not "run heavenly"? You should play as always, trying to play with right decisions, and not be effected by the mental aspect, even though it's impossible not to think about it.

In Italy in "vulgar" we say "pippe mentali", which is "useless lucubrations" or litteraly "mental m..........n". ( I hope is not against the rules, if it is sorry for my language!)
