The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
Yea, you'd think a Christian fundamentalist would be a little careful with this "a book hailed by holocaust deniers" smear, but if he was smart he wouldn't be a Christian fundamentalist.
Are you still going around claiming the Lancet glorified letter to the editor was a study that proved that hundreds of thousands were killed?
Oh hey, speaking of holocaust denial, here we go with this again.
I am not up to date on what holocaust deniers praise. and his claim that the wiki asserted such a thing was already debunked. thats why he slinked away today.
Maybe I spend too much time here. I'm gone for like three hours and Victor claims I 'slinked away.' Can't make up this level of stoopid.
Your stoopidity aside, you are correct. in one thing. I misread one of the sentences as 'holocaust denier", when in fact it read "holocaust scholar.." (Which makes no sense given the words are not similar in appearance.)
I either need better reading glasses or need to sit closer to my computer. (Or maybe a brain-transplant, but that's not within my budget at this time.)
your (non) apology is accepted bc Im nice.
proves? its pretty strong evidence. not that its necessary. at this point, only a denier would think otherwise.
Whatβs strong evidence? A letter to the editor that was explicitly just estimating that insane lefties like you assumed was a real study?
If holocaust denial is pointing out that things that are not studies are not studies, I guess Iβm a holocaust denier. Of course I think that the way you are using that term is completely ******ed but thatβs to be expected.
Just want to let y'all know that I will be slinking away for several hours.
Peace.
when i lived in MENA for two years, one of my go to things whenever someone was bothering me was to ask them if they liked Seinfeld, where they'd immediately say yes and start talking about their favorite characters and episodes, I'd then point out that Jerry Seinfeld was Jewish - it was always throw them for a tizzy because any English speaking Arabic person seems to universally love that show (it's incredibly popular in Egypt)
like they'd literally storm off, unable to reconcile that the show they loved so dearly starred a Jew
it was an amazing tool to get annoying people who'd just sit down uninvited at our table and start talking to us if they were annoying and we wanted to be left alone
even found this https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2011/12/23/...

it's not the highest seller, but it's a regular bestseller
whenever i hit a bookstore in cairo it was always prominent on the shelves

seeing displays like this while looking for the english language aisle was normal

i really don't think you guys understand how much muslims, particularly egypt (which fought many recent wars and lost badly in all of them) absolutely hate israel
but you guys will fantasize a kumbayah world instead of dealing with reality

book fair heavily censors what's on offer but allows mein kampf
you just gotta laugh at the gullibility of these people
of the muslim countries i've lived within, only the turks were chill and i'm guessing it's because they aren't devout (they drink alcohol) and they're europe adjacent so get a lot of competing ideology thrown their wayembracing islam was always more of a means to end for them historically as well - embrace islam and became the soldier caste of this muslim nation and within a ge
i knew i'd mentioned this before so searched seinfeld jew and got this - i'm sure there's earlier mentions of it as well, was pretty active on 2p2 during my time living in north africa

That AI summary doesn't remotely contradict what I wrote, nor does it come close to corroborating what Kelhus wrote.

Ditto for this, which I saw before I made my post.
i never corroborated that it was the 2nd best seller after the koran, but you can rest assured it is a best seller and features prominently in nearly every cairo book store - so while he may gone too far, he was directionally correct
i think that's pretty standard for him, he is correct directionally but tends to exaggerate a little and that's where you guys pounce on him, not on his core thesis but that he takes it too far
it's not so different from someone stating "they don't eat fish in egypt" and kel writes "they eat it every meal" - both are wrong but kel's version is far more accurate to the version where they don't eat fish at all
its not "directionally correct." your sources are genocidal Zionist groups whos main purpose is to churn out propaganda to justify the mass slaughter and dispossession of the natives at the hands of Jewish settlers.
You can just make up whatever racist nonsense you like about Arabs here on 2p2. They love Seinfeld but they're too dumb to clock that Jerry Seinfeld is Jewish. They can't get enough of Mein Kampf. lol, imagine how quick I'd get banned if I said this kind of shit about any other ethnic group.
"You guys live in a fantasy world, now check out what AI tells me about Egypt..."

my sources are spending nearly 3 years of my life living in the middle east and north africa
lol trolly, you're the guy who thinks a gay man can't possibly be physically attracted to a straight man - that there's no reason on earth that could ever happen...
trying to talk about people being out of touch... coming from you, genuinely the most ideologically stupid person i've ever interacted with...
oh right. is Mein Kampf a normal topic of convo?
no but i read every day, stopped in every book store i came across, and mein kampf was usually given a prominent display
seinfeld however was a normal topic of conversation, egyptians love that show and when they learned i was american from ny (i'd tell people i was from new york as i grew up about 2 hours away) they almost all universally brought up that show
they absolutely love it
