It obviously works for Jokic, but sling passes often are inaccurate, especially with a player's off hand. Curry used to throw sling passes all the time, but rarely does any more because he was so prone to throwing it away, especially with his left hand.

How many times in the last thirty years has a big who was perceived to be a project on the offensive end actually turned into a really good NBA player?
Giannis is one obvious example. Maybe Gobert. Ben Wallace. I guess you could say Jokic and Sengun, but they weren't so much projects as they were guys who were perceived to be limited by their athleticism.

Those guys weren’t taken in the top three by teams with glaring, gaping holes in their rosters and super-premium prospects available. Portland had just drafted Drexler the year before, at least.
