Went back to T last night, and played another looooong session.
Ran pretty bad early. My opponents made quads against me literally 4 times in a 45 minute span. I guess it was fortunate for me that stacks went in only two of those spots.
One time I had flopped top full (what can you do about THAT), and the other time, I check/shoved the flopped nut straight, vs a set that improved to quads once the three of us were all in.
It took almost 9 hours, but I stayed patient, folded a bunch, and turned it all the way back around to a +500 win.
That runs the current winning streak to 7 straight sessions, and counting. But two of those were (successfully executed!) marathon side quests to get unstuck, which may have been more trouble than they were worth.
Still. It’s good to be putting down black ink in my book, instead of red.
Just KNEW I was jinxing it, drawing attention to my neat little 7 straight winning sessions.
Booked a loser in the online game tonight, -1.5k. Pretty unfortunate to get AA66 and one suit in preflop, up against AAJ7 with two suits, and I didn’t win. Or tie.
Ah well.
Still feeling good about my game, and where I’m at right now.
Back to work.
If it makes you feel any better, my husband had AAXX vs. AAXX all in pre-flop 18 times (well, one was NLHE) and lost them all except the 16th hand.
I'm a PLO fish for sure, but I just don't value AAxx enough to be trying to get it in pre every time, especially if it's not DS with broadway cards for xx. Am I way off base there?
Sometimes the stacks are such that when you’re facing a 3bet, you can 4bet to commit stacks, and you’ll always be doing it from ahead.
But you’re right, preflop edges in PLO are much thinner than post flop edges, so it’s not always a good idea to push tiny edges hard for big stacks.

+630 in a smaller NL game (1 hand PLO per orbit) at F.
The big hand was isolating a shortstack’s shove, then getting re-shipped on, and fearlessly flipping. 33 > AK > AQ. No gambol, no future.
Here’s hoping this is the start of a new 7+ session winning streak.

…Pretty sweet to set the new bar even higher, twice, in the same month.
Started with 1k. Chip up to about +600 or so, then flop top set in late position, facing a pot bet and a call. Very straightforward shove, and I hold.
A couple orbits later, exact same situation. Call a raise in late position, flop top set, facing action, commit stacks, and, (crucially), hold.
Those two double ups got me into a spot to play a craaaaaazy deepstacked hand.
I have the button, with KJT8 double suited. There’s some limps, a pot raise to 90, myself and 3 others call.
Flop 9-7-6, with two hearts to my K-high flush draw.
There’s a bet to 200, a raise to 500, AND a cold flat, to me.
If I JUST had the nut straight, I’d proceed cautiously. But I had the hearts, and the outs to improve my straight. I pot to 2500, raiser ships, cold flatter calls. 4500 in 3 ways on the flop.
The raiser had a set and the low end, 8-5. The caller also had T-8, with a jack.
Run it once.
Turn Qh, river 3h, and I scoop better than a 14k pot!
Tipped the dealer, a buddy of mine, a black chip. I know that’s a leak, but I really didn’t care.
Then, for good measure, later I 4bet AA97 double suited, get it in pre heads up for almost 2k, and hold.
In all, a pretty fantastic night.
