Airlines are launching several new routes out of Harry Reid International Airport this year, with the latest launching Wednesday from Breeze Airlines.

Breeze started twice-weekly flights, Wednesdays and Saturdays, to and from Lincoln Airport in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Despite consistent reports of a tourism slowdown in Las Vegas, some airlines are still betting big on the city. Here is a list of newly and soon-to-be opened routes to and from the Las Vegas airport, both domestic and international.

Breeze Airlines

In March, Breeze Airlines started its inaugural services from Las Vegas for five routes: Twin Falls, Idaho, McKinleyville and Arcata, California, Provo, Utah and Redmond, Oregon.

Daily nonstop flights between Reid airport and Orange County’s John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California, began March 6. Breeze also started its twice-weekly flights to and from Magic Valley Regional Airport in Twin Falls, Idaho, Mondays and Fridays, that same day.

On March 11, the airline launched twice-weekly flights, Wednesdays and Saturdays, to and from California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport in McKinleyville, California, serving the Arcata-Eureka area.

Breeze, a Utah-based discount leisure air carrier, has grown to become the 10th busiest domestic commercial air carrier at Reid and flying 22,847 passengers to and from Las Vegas in January.

Air France

Air France will start their seasonal nonstop air service between LAS and Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport on April 15.

The 10½-hour flights will operate Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays through Oct. 24, capable of carrying up to 440 passengers.

The first departure from Las Vegas is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. with a nearly 5½-hour flight time. Return flights leave Anchorage at 12:55 a.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 7:05 a.m.

Flights to and from Cancun on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula on the Gulf of Mexico are scheduled Thursdays through Mondays with departures on various days at 7:55 a.m. and 9 a.m. and run 4½ hours. Return flights leave Cancun at either 1:45 p.m. or 3:20 p.m. depending on the day.

The Puerto Vallarta departures from Las Vegas leave Saturdays at 7:55 a.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. and last three hours. Return flights are Saturdays at 5 p.m., and Sundays at 2:55 p.m.

Qantas Airlines

In December, Qantas Airlines is launching nonstop flights from Las Vegas to Sydney, Australia. This will mark the first nonstop flights between Australia and Southern Nevada and the longest nonstop flight from Las Vegas at 15 hours and 15 minutes.

With an 8:20 p.m. departure and because the flight crosses the International Dateline, travelers will arrive in Australia two days after departing.

The airline will use twin-engine Boeing 787 Dreamliners capable of carrying up to 300 passengers on the Las Vegas route.

Never been to Sonoma County airport, but I can't imagine it has the runways for 737-sized jets. Does Southwest run those little Bombardier jets that look like 7/8ths scale 727's?

Somebody else tried the Lincoln to Vegas thing and it didn't go too well. Already have service out of Omaha and Grand Island (both an hour away). Pretty cheap though, most flights under 100 bucks each way.
