A5s is my favorite hand when I’m in over my head!
1/3. Non-mandatory button straddle is 6. Hands are going four to six way, calling 15-30 pre. I wished I was rolled for 1
Final inflection point.
BTN straddle 6. SB call. Hero BB with Ac5c? Hero raises to 30. UTG, BTN, and SB call. 4-way.
Flop (110 after rake): Tc4h5d
SB checks. Hero? Hero bets 50. V in UTG calls. BTN and SB fold. Heads-up
Turn: (210): 7h
Hero checks. V bets 65. Hero?
fold but you shouldnt be in this spot. your flop bet size is silly and accomplishes nothing - no worse hands call, no better hands fold, all straight draw calls as well.
i think you should think more about what you are trying to accomplish with your actions.
Raise is bad pre, cbet sizing is bad too. Please fold turn now and stop touching money

Hero folds. V mucks.
I hate BTN straddles.
I'd probably just pure fold A5s in the BB. If we were deeper and had any fold equity, I could see arguments for raising.
At this table, I think the only way we win this hand post flop is to over-bet jam flop.
Yes, we'd be turning middle pair into a bluff. I don't see better hands folding for less than pot, and we'd love to take this down on the flop.
At this depth there's really no reason to get involved here. Limp or fold pre.
Curious why everyone is saying pf is bad? The CLP charts have A5s as a 100% open in the BB vs Btn straddle
It's also worth noting that the rules vary. This is apparently a game where the action starts on the SB when the BTN straddles, so H is second to act. So there's a lot of Vs that can act behind. If it were a place where BTN straddle gets last action, and UTG acts first, then absolutely I'm raising pure. But vs a table full of Vs that are going to flat with hands like A8, we don't really want to have vs 3-4 of them OOP.
OTF, I see no reason to c-bet. We have a pair that could be good, but we're never getting better to fold this shallow. If any V turns over JT, do I think we can get him to fold if we bet flop and jam most turns? No. I don't really feel good about that, especially against people we label "calling stations". We can x/c a reasonable bet, maybe pick up some equity OTT. I think a ton of the time this flop checks through, and we get a free card. If we pick up gin like another 5 or an A, I think we easily get all the money in over the turn and river vs a wide range. If we whiff, we can go to check it down and we win sometimes if it just checks down.
Pushing here vs so many players who have position on us seems spewy.
