The Democratic Party's Slide Into Irrelevance
Attaching a poll ... Dems unfavorability rating increased from 45% to 57% during the Biden Administration.
The fact that you can't satisfy everyone doesn't imply that the conflict was destined to be bad for Dems. They could have chosen a position that was more popular, picked up more voters and gotten more enthusiasm from the base. This whole "well, what can ya do, it was destiny" feels like an effort to remove accountability from the Dems. They made bad political decisions and lost
This is just false. No matter what path was taken, people would have complained about either too little or too much force.
There were no good options that could picked up net votes. Opposition gaining electoral position when good options don't exist for the ruling party is a fact of Democratic life even before Democracies existed.
The what if game claim can be played either way after the election. Harris lost Pennsylvania by 1.7 percent. The sitting governor of the state was a viable VP candidate. Picking Shapiro would have pissed off the antisemitic wing of the party, but would that still have been a net positive for Harris? The Democrats were no more willing to risk alienating the antisemites in their party than the Republicans are willing to take on the racists in their party.
it says a lot that its considered antisemitic to oppose mass murder of children.
Or as some have suggested: the West has collectively decided it can’t coexist with theocracies willing to use their children as human shields when faced with overwhelming military force. In the West, if your military is defeated, you surrender. That’s the rule. The Emperor of Japan understood this and did right by his people by ‘bearing the unbearable.’
As far as Israel goes, I think the showdown between the West and radical Islam was inevitable; it just happened to fall on Israel. Not that this excuses what they’re doing, but they’re hardly going it alone, despite what Western politicians say in public. Like with the Dems, they put their face saving opposition but not enough to stop anything because basically everyone wants to get rid of Hamas etc. Everyone being the people with all the power.

Ok sure, but my post was a comment on what antisemitism is.
Sure, according to your definition. But you probably think Allied bomber pilots were mass murderers of children, too.
It’s easy to sit on the sidelines and make these moral calls. But imagine the Palestinians called you on 10/8, asking for advice. Knowing what you know now about Israel’s response, would you tell them to immediately surrender or keep resisting?

again, I dont know what this has to do with the current definition of antisemitism.
as for your original post, I agree with most of it. Israel is the Vanguard of the West and this is just a continuation of the European crusades. now, rather than Christian peasants being used for conquest, Zionist Jews are being sent to rape and pillage and steal.

Im not arrogant enough to tell the Palestinian resistance how to fight. they have been dealing with the genocidal Supremacists for generations.
The Dems were the choice if you wanted a relatively peaceful resolution to the conflict. Foreign powers sabotaged the Dems using propaganda in order to get Trump elected. If you’re wondering why Palantir stock has been soaring it’s because smart people have realized that the average American is way too dumb to vote according to their own interests.
We just disagree about whether the I/P conflict was a political problem or a political opportunity for Democrats. Internal research doesn't go to the point I am making. I also think that you are overlaying current opinion onto 2023/2024. In the last 12-18 months, reported support for the Israeli government has gone down among Democratic voters.
its really just unlucky for the Dems that it was such a wedge issue during the election and now its clear cut that everyone rightfully hates Israel.

anyway, time to start a big middle east nuclear war because thats what israel wants and to distract from the fact that we're completely owned by billionaire pdfiles
-both parties
right but did you realize its antisemitic to not do a war in Iran?
Shouldn’t have voted for a pedo foreign agent for president. Idiots lol
Ouch

Democrats flip seat in Florida state house in district that includes Trump’s Mar-a-Lago
This morning, I was eating breakfast at a diner/deli and happened to be sitting adjacent to a guy in his early to mid 60s who was having breakfast with one woman his age and another woman who appeared to be well into her eighties or early nineties. If I had to guess, it was a mother and her two kids. But it could have been a mother, daughter, and some other family member. The man basically lectured the women about politics for about 20 minutes. They barely said a word. Among the things I heard the guy say were the following:
"You're lucky you have oil heat. If you had gas, you wouldn't have any hot water. Remember when they made everyone switch their heat to natural gas and they told us that we had enough natural gas to last 1000 years. Come on!"
"And then they told us we were going to get electricity from windmills. When the weather got bad, all the windmills froze up. It was a disaster. Come on! It's ridiculous."
"You know those tankless hot water heaters. You know how much it costs to maintain those things. You'll be out 20 grand before you know it. And they use electricity. Where do think electricity comes from, the sky? Fossil fuels, that's where. People don't understand."
"Don't get me started on solar. I had solar panels on my house upstate. You used to be able to sell the excess power back to the power company, and they had to buy it. That was a great deal. But now all I get is credits that I couldn't spend if I lived to be 200 years old. It's a total racket. These corporations don't care about the people. They just want to steal your money."
"I'll tell you one thing. I've never seen Jews fly airplanes into a building. Any time something like that happens, it's Muslims. It's all extremists. Any religion that tells you you get all the virgins you want in the afterlife if you kill an American is extreme."
"Mamdani talked all this stuff about housing. But guess what they are building over on XYZ street. Condos for rich people. It's all a scam with these corporations. Nobody really cares about the people."
"I never liked Cuomo. You remember when he ran for governor against Koch and put up all those 'Vote for Cuomo, not the ****' signs in Queens. I don't know if Koch was gay or not, but who cares. I thought he was a good mayor. And he was a regular guy. He lived in rent stabilized housing before he was mayor." (Ed Koch was a Democratic mayor of NYC during the late 1970s and 1980s. Mario Cuomo denied having anything to do with the signs, and there is some question about whether the signs existed or were simply an urban legend. Many years later, media reports confirmed that Koch was gay, but he remained closeted for all of his public life.)
"Anything I tell you is true. If you don't believe me, just look it up on the internet."
Interestingly, I didn't hear the guy say one word pro or con about Trump or the Iran war. My question is this. Do Democrats need to win a decent percentage of voters with this profile in order to right the ship, and if so, what points do you emphasize?

That profile fits roughly 1/3 of voters. So whiile the Dems don't need to win all of them over, the candidates and their messaging can't immediately repel them, either. Imagine Bill Clinton sitting at a table saying, 'I hear you, brother; everyone I talk to is saying the same thing.' Now contrast that with Hillary with her eye rolls and lectures on why he's talking out of his ass.

"I hear you, brother" isn't much of a message.
That's the message he's most interested in hearing.
"Anything I tell you is true. If you don't believe me, just look it up on the internet."
I could sell him just about anything based on that. So could Dale Carnegie. A lot of Dem candidates couldn't even sell him a life preserver if he were drowning, because people would rather face death than ridicule and condescension.
Watching CNN this morning and the numbers guy Harry showing how bad the Democrats think of their own party
55% of Dems do not like the direction of the party
That kind of message without content is what GW Bush and Bill Clinton excelled at whenever they got a question they didn’t want to answer and a big part of why people found them relatable despite their actual background.
If only the SCOTUS had elected Gore instead of GWB in 2000. No War on Terror and the Social Security Trust Fund would have been safe and sound in a lockbox.

There was always going to be a "war on terror" in some form or fashion once 9/11 happened. The famous memo Bush received shortly before 9/11 said bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S.
