TP Facing Flop Raise in Wet Board
Stakes: $2/$3 NLH with $6 Optional Straddle
Hero's Effective Stacks: $400
Hero (HJ): K♣ J♣
Pre-flop: UTG opens to $20. Hero calls. BTN (Cheap Leader, about $1000) calls.
Flop: J♠ 8♥ 7♦
UTG bets $25. Hero calls. BTN raises to $85. UTG folds.
Hero All-in, after much deliberation, BTN calls.
Regarding my All-in, myimpression of BTN was that he tended to be loose, in advantageous positions, he would choose to aggressively raise to gain fold equity from Hero and UTG.
To be honest, if UTG had called $85, I would have assumed he had a made straight and I would have folded. However, UTG didn't call, which reinforced my earlier assumption.
Turn: 10♣
River: 6♥
Questions:
1. Is KJs a standard call in the HJ against a UTG open?
2. When the BTN raises to $85, what is his likely range?
3. Can I interpret BTN's raise as preventing someone from drawing to a straight?

wow
need to learn to 3bet/fold pre-flop
by calling you’re trapped in the middle
It’s a very FOLDable hand unless you have determined that UTG is a wide opener.
Yes you hit the flop, but you really overplayed this hand. Do you think QJ raised to $85?
You put button in a ‘squeeze play’ situation twice in a row, so it could be a move - but TPTK is a hand (better than yours) that wants to get to showdown cheaply.
I think you needed to get villain to fold to the jam, and are now in trouble. But you made it very difficult to range the button, so who knows. Difficult in that you didn’t challenge him, he could call with a wide range and may well have hit this board.
Honestly, you and villain should never be in a hand together in this spot - either you fold or you raise and he folds.
1. No
2. 2pair+, big draws
3. I don’t think you should think of a 3bet as someone giving a bad price for draws. Yes, it’s a wet board, but a lot of value hands should bet. All the draws came in though, so I’m surprised if you win.
My handling of the pre-flop was poor;
Besides, I overestimated V's bluffing frequency.
