Just because I happened to have also made some comments in another thread you were in doesn’t mean I was following you.

Then I’m sure it will be quite easy to find the “horrible shit” and harassment. I’ll be waiting for any of that to be substantiated. Until then it’s just a baseless accusation.
I don't know anything about the demographics of people who like bitter melon.
I concede that it is divisive. My wife and one of my kids hate it. But I truly like it, as does my other kid. In my opinion, you have to cook it with something rich--pork or beef if you are cooking Chinese food, yogurt or coconut if you are cooking Indian food--to balance out the bitterness.
There are genetic markers that strongly correlate with how you perceive bitter melon.
We are biologically programmed to associate bitterness with poison so unless you had repeated exposures to bitterness (especially in positive contexts, such as medicines perceived to be healthy), your default response to bitter melon, especially if you got genes making you especially sensitive to bitterness, is going to be no.
We are predisposed to disliking anything different from what we had when very young. It's an evolutionary ' trick ' that means we stick to the stuff that didn't kill us.
It's also the reason god invented alcohol. It helps us overcome the 'trick'
One of my favorite Thai soups that is probably hard to find outside of the country "toon fak", if you ever see it, order it. Uses winter gourd, wax gourd, winter melon, one of those names. Its main flavor profile coming from preserved lime but the gourd is great although mild compared to bitter melon.

FWIW, I don't recall having any memorable exposures to bitterness when I was younger, positive or negative, medicinal or otherwise.
I like all sorts of bitter and sour tasting stuff.
