President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

So now Trump is obsessed with shitty dress shoes?

Now, facing murmurings of discontent in the Maga movement over his appetite for foreign wars, the spiralling cost of oil and a potentially damaging set of midterms later this year, Trump has cobbled together a sartorial solution to encourage Republican unity: a $145 pair of dress shoes.

The president is giving pairs from his favourite brand to members of his administration, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, JD Vance, the vice-president and Pete Hegseth, the secretary of war, have all received a pair of Florsheim shoes in recent months. Others presented with the brand’s classic lace-ups include the Fox News host Sean Hannity, the senator Lindsey Graham and the Maga celebrity Tucker Carlson.

Reporter: "Mr. President, you just suggested that Iran somehow got its hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war. But you're the only person in your government saying this. Even your Defense secretary wouldn't say that when he was asked standing over your shoulder on your plane on Saturday. Why are you the only person saying this?"

Trump: "Because I just don't know enough about it. I think it's something that I was told is under investigation, but Tomahawks are used by others, as you know. Numerous other nations have Tomahawks — they buy them from us. But … whatever the report shows, I'm willing to live with that report."

Wild.

Kinda like Florsheims, soft soles. Have a pair on my office shoe rack for swapping as needed.

$145 is a ripoff tho. Hit up Nordstrom rack, they got em for 95.

It's just a figure of speech, guys. I could have said it was "dismaying." And my comment wasn't aimed solely at right wingers.

I don't care about whether I have a brand or what it might be if it exists.

I'd admittedly use such an attack to troll victor.

[...]As for escorting ships through, this will be a complicated operation. On a normal day, some 50-100 ships pass through the strait and now you have to add to that all the thousands of ships that are currently stuck. Bunching ships up in formation makes air cover easier, but also makes it richer for targets. On the flip side, keeping them spread makes it more difficult to

To continue this post, we seem to finally have our answer: Reuters reports that as per statements from the US navy to shipping executives, it is not currently feasible to escort ships through the strait.

If that report is accurate, and since Iranian attacks on shipping through the strait was the most predictable outcome of the war, we can derive a fairly simple conclusion: The outcome of the initial operation was misjudged, resources and plans were not put in place in case the desired outcome was not reached. Not a good look.

The war is now very much in the limbo phase of "****ing around and finding out". What Iran's future will be is not clear for anyone except pundits willing to gamble on being able to tell "I told you so" in the future. As for the near future, Iran's capacities have been hit hard, but the old Iranian regime has simply been replaced with an even worse one. Its stability is anyone's guess, but probably depends more on events in Iran than on American and Israeli bombs.

Trump should just keep upping the ante and starting insisting that his people begin turning themselves orange.

that's one definition, there are many others which disagree - maybe i took way too many philosophy classes in college but those two things have always been distinct and different, if that exact exact happened in one of my college classes, there would indeed have been snickers at td assuming lozen was stating that td was smarter than he was

there's often an overlap because deep thinking is usually ignored by the idiots but there's a lot of really stupid people who would qualify as intellectuals

think of the i'm 16 and this is deep kind of stuff - that's all very intellectual thinking despite that it's coming from absolute idiots

- lots of discussion here

most anyone browsing or posting here would be considered an intellectual, but we all know most of us are idiots

I understand the distinction, but your post implied that eda somehow misused or misunderstood the meanings of those two words, which simply isn't true in light of the definition I cited.

Wild.

What a train in thought

Everyone: America bombs elementary school

Trump: fake news, iran did it to itself

Everyone: America admitted to doing it

Trump, literally the president of the United States: well, I’m just telling you what I was told

Also trump: but if we did it that’s fine too

Lol!

Yeah, bombing other countries is hilarious.

Trump: "Based on what Steve and Jared and Pete and others were telling me, Marco is so involved, I thought they were going to attack us"

Always the hero, always the victim.

When you are bad and stupid and you surround yourself with bad and stupid then there isn't much that could come out except bad and stupid. Go figure.

It's just so bizarre a president admitting to invading a country based on intel provided by a handful of morons. At this point saying ''Bibi told me to do it'' would sound better than admitting you acted on intel provided by a real estate developer, a tv host and his son in law....
