Have you noticed that the range against and open 2X and 3X is drastically different ?

Have you ever noticed how drastically different your defending range should be against a 2x open vs a 3x open?

I pulled some ranges and adapted them to my own game to match the right frequency for each action. The difference is pretty striking.

My understanding is that the smaller the open, the more you want to call because the pot odds are just nicer. On the flip side when the sizing gets bigger you have less incentive to call and you want to 3bet more to put pressure back and make villain fold some equity.
But I feel like there is more to it than just pot odds.

How do you guys explain this difference? Would love to hear your take.

It's risk/reward. That's it.

BB vs CO or BTN is a super important position to understand and when it comes to the EV on it, you need to defend A LOT in the blinds. You are already 50% in with a min raise so yes you have way more equity

i understand that this is risk reward mainly but I'm very suprised about the difference !
