Huh, you are right, I just looked back at my own record of playing in the event and it looks like the structure is the same. I wonder why pokernews would publish a structure with the wrong year on it (it was just the first link I saw when I search for WSOP 2025 structures).
I cashed in the $1500 LO8 event in both 2023 and 2025; the bubble burst in level 19 in 2023 and level 17 in 2025.
I heard rumblings from DN that the 1500 events going day 3(standard) but ggin later than expect easily was something they were talking about for all tourneys they (some pros) want day 4s for tourneys they thought would go 3 for certain mid events
all in all schedule is okay, I still think they should do LHE event if its not there but glad they kept a lot and tried to group the smaller tourneys together.

Summary:
- Main Event Final table delay - still not announced when the final table is, I am in the camp of 0 delay besides the 1 day break we have had the past few years, even pushing it out a few weeks I think is not great. Dnegs and others say "not a new november 9". Current rumor is early august.
- Free daily livestreams - this is good as already mentioned, appears that Poker GO contract is over. Jeff Platt is moving over to WSOP streams, meh, always found him annoying.
-Schedule changes:
-Opening mystery bounty is now $550 buy in. Top bounty is still 1 mill. I think they should have cut the top bounties to 500k and give out more of those. Or even drop it to 250k and give out more medium but still big bounties such as more 100ks, more 50ks and 25ks etc... In general that is better for the poker eco system to spread out the money. This will also drop the attendance for the 1k version.
-Monster stack has more re-entries and now Day 2 is immediately after your Day 1, same with few other tournaments. While this is sort of bad that deep pocketed people/pros can blast off with less care, I am a fan of the schedule change that moves day 2 earlier, makes for less conflicts and having to wait multiple days for day 2, also in some of these I appreciate that an early day 2 bust allows for a re-entry to a later flight. I do not like the buy in directly on day 2 though.
-Heads Up Tourn - Does not affect me as I don't play that event but having re-entry in the heads up tournament seems ridiculous to me.
- Removed Battle of Ages, but that was new last year, no big loss, $777 is gone but there are plenty of similar events. 3k Limit Holdem is gone, I know some are not happy on that one. Same with the Shootout, it was the only shoot out on the schedule. $1979 HOF Bounty, minor loss there.
- New Events 1500 5 card PLO, seems good. 1500 Pick Your PLO seems fun as well as the $1700 US Circuit Champ, although I don't get the name, it's an open event at the WSOP, why is it the Circuit Championship.
- Gap in Last 2 weeks of June lacks 10k+ NLH events. No effect on me but I understand HSNL players bummed about it.
As per usual, each year they add more and more flights and re-entries allowed. Somewhat stretching out already long events even further, but the Day 2 next day alleviates this a bit.

Just single re-entry each flight right? They need to build a Monster prize pool somehow! A single entry freezeout at $1500 ain’t gettin it done.
4 factors that will severely impact WSOP attendance in 2026.
Bitcoin losing 1/2 it's value from peak. It looked like it was building some support around $70K but has gone backwards to around $68,000. Could get a boost again with annual Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas.
The 90% loss rule. It's doubtful it will changed before the WSOP begins in May. This absolutely will hurt players who have to end up paying taxes on money they didn't profit with.
Iran war. Don't know how long it will last or what things will look like if they can get some kind of resolution. Will definitely affect foreign poker players coming into playing the WSOP.
Higher gas costs, higher jet fuel costs and Wall Street. Hard core players will still show up but rec players may stay home.
If I'm wrong come back and post. I'm more than willing to admit I made a mistake. Not saying this will affect the Main Event which always draws. I think it will lower the attendance on all other events.

I feel like we do this every year, a few posts about here are all the reasons why attendance will be down. I won't go through all of your points, but every year there is some financial reason, some political reason and some reason that foreign players aren't coming , along with the standard travel/fuel/plane ticket prices are high.

Uhhh its always over July 4th. Usually starts 1A on July 2nd or 3rd i guess depending on how it lines up. Im happy to be proven wrong if someone shows conflicting evidence.

I think its 2 re-entries now per day plus you might be able to buy in on day 2? Even if not, that'd be 12 entries for days 1A-1D. I dont give a **** if 1st takes 1.2 million ir 900k. Its still a life changing sum and I want a better opportunity to get through the field with my 1 bullet. Its already difficult enough.

Monster is a single re-entry per flight. All structure sheets are posted now in a comprehensive PDF at bottom of online schedule page. Monster used to be 1 entry per flight when it debuted, so yeah it’s gone the way of adding more entries. I agree in some cases it’s gotten out of hand. I’d be ok with eliminating “Day 2” entries, especially in the Main, I think you should have to navigate at least a partial Day 1.
As far as “opportunity to get through on 1 bullet”, I’m not sure how new players showing up to your table with a fresh starting stack hurts that, in fact if you’re trying to build a stack, that’s what you need. Remember it’s re-entry not rebuy.

In the entire history of the WSOP, the Main Event has straddled July 4th just eight times out of 56, but that includes the last four years plus 2008, 2009, 2018, and 2019 (2026 will be #9).
Action usually proceeds as usual on July 4, but it was an off day in 2009. The 2019 Salute to Warriors is the only other exception I know of, although the $5,000 No-Limit Hold 'Em played on that very same day.
Correct. Single entry from inception in 2014 through 2021. Re-entry option added in 2022.

Observations of an overseas rec:
I play NLHE only and nothing above $1.5k except the Main.
I generally stay for 3 weeks. Last year I fired 55 bullets.
Usually book until day 5 of the Main (with plan to extend if needed).
Every year they seem to be pushing all the lower buy-in stuff back. This is the first time ever I am coming for the final 3 weeks of the series (June 26-Jul 16).
Disappointed I can’t play things like the Milli Maker, Monster etc but this seems like the best window for lower buy-in recs.
Kind of weird that we don’t know when the FT of the main is. I get it, it’s the main and you’re just going to reschedule things if you FT it but generally I wouldn’t play a tournament if I had other plans on the day of the FT, especially if I’m flying to the other side of the world.
This year is 10% better value for me as the US dollar is falling.
Vegas hotel rates are also lower than they were last year (regardless of the exchange rate).
Many people I know won’t travel to the US in these times but I assume we don’t get into politics here.
I joined the Big Adventures tournament for a while and had a good time with it. Just saw that the final prize draw is going to happen live on stream.
The Maldives trip will be randomly awarded to one of the Top 100 players.
Did anyone here actually finish in the Top 100? I’m planning to watch the stream just to see who gets it.
