Trump is proud of the deal that he brokered between Hamas and Israel, and Israel has continually claimed to be negotiating in good faith throughout the war with Hamas. If you believe this, then you should be critical of Trump. Have you been critical of Trump on that front?
As far as other examples, they were in negotiations with Iran, negotiated with the ruling party of Venezuela to secure a government, and wanted to install the second or third line in the Iranian hierarchy but accidentally killed them.
If you’re going to use such an expression you should have a basic understanding of what’s going on so you could apply it.
This mission is about eliminating the Iranian threat. It would be ideal if Iran turned into a Democratic nation. If it turns into a failed state so be it as long as it no longer poses a threat.
Failed states tend to pose a threat to their neighbors. Israel doesn’t care if Iran turns into a failed state because then they won’t be a threat specifically to them. I don’t advocate for foreign policy with the goal of protecting Israel’s interests, do you?
Many of the countries in the Middle East rely on desalinization for their water and sea transportation for their exports and tourism for their economies. How does having a failed state on their borders help that goal?
