[extracted] New(?) 9-11 stuff
KSM got a plea deal. The guy who supposedly masterminded the 9/11 attacks is not getting the death penalty.
If you still
Why not ask the authors of the paper YOU cited? They seem to know *the flat earth model* with all its gory details.
Wait, you did read the paper... didnt you?

This is the type of evasion I was talking about.
Please give us YOUR map so we can all marvel at it. Thanks!
Billy, can we lose not sight of this. Let's say we had railroad ties every 0.5 miles, big ones we can see with the naked eye. I think you'd be able to see 6 of them, maybe 7 with refraction. You agree on this part, but you're saying you'd be able to see more with binoculars, right?
Provably the case. We can resolve objects seemingly "beyond the horizon" into view with a telescope. Because the horizon is the vanishing point defined by the limit of resolution. This is another excellent proof in fact.

Ok, so if you agree that St. Paul's should be visible from 210 feet at 41 miles, why did you suggest that I go look at it from a hill 3 miles away? Were you trolling?
Is there anywhere I can go in London to verify this effect for myself? You said there was, and you're from the UK, so I assume you know London reasonably well.
I also said this is done over flat water, for obvious reasons. Less obstruction.

Reading on...
"If flat-Earthers did not have a map to call their own, running any test would be like trying to nail jelly to a wall... Thankfully, there exists a map that is well-accepted within the flat-Earth community."
Flat earth community? What's that?
"It is the polar azimuthal equidistant projection of the orthodox globe, centered on the North Pole. This well-known geometric construct (Snyder, 1987, p. 192) means that flat-Earthers and spherical-Earthers agree on two measurements: (i) longitude and (ii) distance from the North Pole of a given city."
Flat earthers and ballers agree that earth is a globe?
Oh I found a map of flat earth:

I see in the references you can find "the flat earth model" by reading Rowbotham, looking at the UN flag and watching netflix.

Ok, this is interesting. You got any references for this I can read?

So you're saying there is literally nowhere I can see St. Paul's beyond the calculated horizon drop due to obstruction? Seems rather convenient. Obstruction is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
I don't know about reading material.
This video from youtube is good, except when he starts talking at 24 s about the sun, I dont endorse that.

How do we know it's beyond the horizon rather than just being too small and far away to see with the naked eye? We need a way to measure a distance to the target before this proves anything. I don't doubt that you can see small far away objects with the aid of magnification; if this weren't the case, I doubt binoculars would have sold much.

I just want to know if they've proved their main thesis, that it is impossible for the curvature of the Earth to be zero, and if not, why not.
I think this guy is attempting a ball proof. A good example of angular size and obstruction. Speed up to 2x, too long otherwise.

I posted in smp the pic with the oil rigs as markers of known distance. But....
"Refraction".

The point about this is debunking the "boats disappear hull first". That is angular size and obstruction.

Ok explain this angular size and obstruction stuff like I'm 5, you like to just throw random tidbits out there like you're being all aphoristic, but I have no idea what you're referring to.

Lol, I was contemplating posting that clip, you beat me to it.
Looks like they haven't learned how to embed youtubes in posts over there in the flatlands. Let me know if you want some tips.
