It's amazing. They personify equilateral triangles perfectly.

They tried Blink182 without each of the 3 members and it wasn't nearly as good.

Tom has changed as a person more than anyone in the band. When he was young he was a confident dude who seemed to have a lot figured out. Now he's much deeper and wears his scars proudly. He transormed from being the coolest guy in the world, to being intensely pensive and on the absolute surface a tiny bit fragile. But he's still Tom Delonge. Nothing shakes that guy.

Mark provides genuine brilliant poetry to the band, and all around good nature. Whenever he takes the mic these days he delivers something extremely good in a technical and emotionally driven sense.

He's an excellent bass player, but his instrument is without a doubt third in command.

I don't understand anything about Travis. He's a reserved assassin. Easily the genius among the three. He might have more rhythms in his head than anyone in the world, he plays lighting fast and he re-invents the wheel every time he writes a new song. That has always been the case with him. You want stability from your drummer more than anything in a rock band.

The drums can't really **** around too much during a jam. The bass can stop playing at any notice without anyone caring, the guitar ****s around more than any other instrument experimenting trying new fills and tricks missing notes "squeaking" its way to the finish line while nobody questions what song was being played.

when the drums get off pace everyone just crawls into a hole. there's really no recovery from it you can't play your way out of it. it's literally a collapse of time.

I played in a band with an excellent drummer who could not stop ****ing around a little too much. It drove me mad, I can't believe I had to tell him he was being "too loud" as a rock n roll and punk drummer.

One time while I was heavily depressed at a party, someone handed me an electric guitar and that guy got on the drums. He said play something and I put down the guitar and went into a different room.

I feel like retreating into my head for a while. Part of that is due to external circumstance, such as a section of this website permitting the use of the N word so long as it isn't directed at anyone specifically. At least that's what a small 48-hour temp ban says, it's essentially a non-punishment. He didn't just propogate the N word, he acted like he had an innocent reason to do so, and then asked others to join him in discussing the topic. It's pure scum behavior there's no way around it, it impacted me negatively after reading partly because there was nothing I could do about it and I knew the community would take a laissez-faire attitude.

It made me ask myself why I put myself through situations that impact me negatively and I didn't have an answer. My dignity means a lot to me, I don't sit around looking at GORE on the internet for example, I don't read smut, and I don't read and engage a community that supports full blown psychopathic behavior.

"Olé, olé, olé" is a celebratory chant primarily used in sports to express approval, admiration, or excitement. Originating from the Spanish interjection "olé"—a cry of encouragement in bullfighting—it functions like "bravo" or "well done". The repetitive chant gained global popularity after being featured in the 1985 song "Anderlecht Champion" and the 1986 FIFA World Cup song "E Viva Mexico," evolving into a universal anthem for victory and fan unity.

i divorced 2p2 a few days ago.

i came back today to get a few belongings. re-arrange the furniture one last time, make ends meet.

my new guitar came this week. Quilted PRS SE Custom 24-08 in Lake Blue.

it plays even better than i expected. it looks like a $4k guitar, it is extremely precise and flawless. my last guitar did not sound perfect in Clean, this one does.

i'm playing a ton now. it's my morning anti-depressent, and my evening one too.

i was a little surprised to see that it doesn't re-sell very well. considering it is flawless and pretty well regarded. but it's not made in america, and it isn't Fender or Gibson. i'm betting on the zoomer generation getting more involved with PRS but who knows. i don't especially care and won't be selling it unless i have to.

thank you newguyhere and amplify for the reco.

i miss you all. especially mike haven, my most frequent reader and support guy.

if the site decided to take a harder stance against vile postings i would return in spades. as it stands, they don't care, so neither do i.

*Herman Li appreciation post*

Seeing the Politics subforum in it's full-on glorious ****** state makes me think I over-reacted in how I felt about their dealing with vile posts.

I'm still not coming back to share my thoughts on a regular basis. It's a simple matter of not extending myself to an organization that doesn't extend back. Most people I engage with are really cool though. Not my fault either that the leadership on this website doesn't really exist.

Thank you. I think your regular readers miss you, too.

Please remember that the voluntary moderators are mainly and simply interested readers that like to spend some of their time here. They are not obliged to and do not read every post, but if perceived vile and other posts are Reported, they do read those and decide whether or not to take action on such posts. The aim being to make the forums more "friendly", informative and interesting to be around.

Yeah.

I'm sure every moderator on 2+2 saw or was given immediate access to view the posts that I keep hinting at. I spoke with an actual mod off the forums, and he told me in his opinion the poster could have been nuked, and he sees my side of things.

The poster has been previously perma'd for posting bigoted stuff.

My day was thrown for a loop because a previous capital offender is back posting more capital offense stuff. Stuff I couldn't handle.

And he was given an essential non punishment. 48 hours. He came back immediately and thanked the mods for their leniency.

I'm still trying to wrap my ahead around the situation. As I have become a Pavlovian Dog hearing a bell-tone every time I log in.

I make myself quite vulnerable in this blog's mission. I'm comfortable with that feeling. I just don't want to give this website my all anymore.

It was this website that ruined my day.

(I'm sorry for being a day-ruiner of others in the past. I used to be insane. I used to enjoy causing some trouble. I have since grown up.)

what an absolutely stupid thing ^^ to be perma-mad about, Tuma.

you logged in at an unopportune time, clicked an unopportuned forum, saw some bad words, it pissed you off. big ****ing deal.

you're probably over reacting. you're probably caught up in emotional momentum, clinging to a truth as fiction is overriding.

it's a good thing you never became a mod. what a joke you would have been.

I thought you were a serious card player?

epic

I think the announcer was a bit of an ass hole for saying "throw a strike" as the kid was delivering the ball home.

I have been processing the death of David Sklansky. At least attempting to. If I were to have taken a guess, I would have thought it would be something I would have profound feelings about.

One of my conclusions was that I only knew David from words on a page. So all of the things I thought about him were my own imagination. When something in your imagination dies, it's not necessarily a sad event. It was just like "Okay. No more books then." and I went about my day(s) like everything was the same.

I didn't read most of the books. I can't even say I skimmed them. They were important to collect but would the author be satisfied with that alone?

On another timeline I would have paid the family artist to design a DUCY? tattoo for me.

There's a very small chance a tattoo can cause medical problems, so I have none.
