Israel/Palestine thread

AM YISRAEL CHAI.
I don't assume genocide. I would like to see it Netanyahu (and no doubt others) on trial but I don't assume guilt. Prolonging a war so destructive to civilians for political reasons is a damning accusation imo. And his political reasons haven't gone away.
That's an extraordinary idea.
You're the one lecturing about others morality. We all have a moral compass.
Unfortunately, most of you have no real idea of what it means to live under threat.
To say that you have a moral compass for such matters, based on a clinical view of reality, is not an argument IMO.
I'd have thought Israel had just presented a far more credible existential threat to the people of Gaza than Gaza could ever present to Israel. Israel is too well armed for any likely enemy to overcome. Israel was entitled to decide it wouldn't tolerate Hamas as a neighbour any more, and apparently Israel's leaders, who are given to quite chilling racial views, decided as a mat
This is exactly the example of the lack of good faith, the lack of integrity and the lack of moral compass that I am talking about.
The threat to Israel was not only from Gaza, but from the entire axis of resistance. Iran's plan was an all-out attack on Israel. Just because Sinwar did not coordinate the timing with the entire axis of resistance, the plan failed.
In addition, the argument that because one side is stronger, then the other side is not the one that poses an existential threat is complete nonsense. Gaza alone posed a 1,000 times greater threat to Israel than Israel did to Gaza, because only one side wanted to destroy and murder the other side.
Regarding the rise in anti-Semitism - we are certainly to blame for wearing a dress that was too short, and putting on lipstick. Hamas simply could not control themselves because of our provocation...
no its based on actually studies and documentation, such as was done by the Lancelet that made conservative estimates of nearly 200k killed in mid 2024.
or maybe people dont like that Israel slaughtered 100s of thousands of children and bragged about it the whole time. oh and also all the cannibal pedophilia rape torture in the Epstein files.
Sorry, this is the best example of the other side's lack of good faith (and stupidity).
Even Hamas doesn't claim these numbers...
Victor must have some sort of syndrome that causes him to worm around and lie. He lies so much that he ends up contradicting himself every other page lol. What a worthless human.
and yet you can never point out the lie. anyway, keep it up, maybe they will invite you to Epstein island part 2.
still not going to provide evidence that they slaughtered hundreds of thousands of children right?
Sounds like the IDF hates the Jews!
Were you ever going to come up with a substantial critique of The Lancet's findings beyond halfassed semantic bullshitting
Sounds legit

In August 2014 and during the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict, The Lancet published an "Open letter for the people of Gaza" in their correspondence section.[53] As reported in The Daily Telegraph, the letter "condemned Israel in the strongest possible terms, but strikingly made no mention of Hamas' atrocities."[54] According to Haaretz, the authors of the letter include doctors who "are apparently sympathetic to the views of David Duke, a white supremacist and former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard."[55]
Not anti Semitic^^
https://web.archive.org/web/201802232234...
Dr Swee Ang, an orthopaedic surgeon, and Dr Manduca, a professor of genetics at the University of Genoa in Italy – who are both members of pro-Palestine NGOs – sent round-robin emails to their contacts promoting a video entitled “CNN Goldman Sachs & the Zio Matrix”.
The video features an extended anti-Semitic rant by Duke, in which he claims that “the Zionist Matrix of Power controls Media, Politics and Banking” and that “some of the Jewish elite practices racism and tribalism to advance their supremacist agenda”.
Dr Ang wrote: “This is a shocking video please watch. This is not about Palestine – it is about all of us!”
Repeat, NOT anti Semitic^^
In another email, Dr Manduca forwarded a message alleging that the Boston marathon bombings were in fact carried out by Jews. “Let us hope that someone in the FBI us smart enough to look more carefully at the clues in Boston and find the real culprits behind these bombings instead of buying the Zionist spin”, it said.
Elsewhere, she shared an article comparing the Jewish state to a “strangler fig”, which grows around other trees and takes their sunlight, often resulting in the death of the original trees.
David Duke has been delighted by the apparent support of these respected doctors. “The latest group of people to join the ranks of those who have broken the chains of Zionist censorship have been a brave group of medical professionals,” he wrote on his blog.
um...

^^
Anyway trolly, thanks for your clearly non biased unimpeachable source.
Completely unrelated to the Gaza conflict, the Lancet retracted the paper.
*yawn* also completely unrelated to Gaza and I have no idea what you're even trying to prove:
The mortality estimates in the Lancet surveys are higher than in several other reports, including those of the Iraqi Health Ministry and the United Nations, as well as other household surveys such as the Iraq Living Conditions Survey and the Iraq Family Health Survey. The 2007 ORB survey of Iraq War casualties estimated more deaths than the Lancet, though it covered a longer period of the conflict.[5][6] The Lancet surveys have been supported by some journalists, governments, epidemiologists and statisticians, and been met by criticism and disbelief from other journalists, governments, epidemiologists and statisticians.[7]
On 19 February 2020, The Lancet published a letter signed by 27 scientists that stated: "We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin ... [Scientists] overwhelmingly conclude that this coronavirus originated in wildlife, " adding: "Conspiracy theories do nothing but create fear, rumours, and prejudice that jeopardise our global collaboration in the fight against this virus."
Wow! Obv totally unresponsive to the Gaza conflict, but these guys sure seem totally nutty! Good reason to dismiss their findings offhand, you're a very smart person!
Were you ever going to come up with a substantial critique of The Lancet's findings beyond halfassed semantic bullshitting
I have already done it before, this was just about calling it a study. It’s not semantics when you guys are using an appeal to authority to point out it’s not an authority. It’s not like the argument from the Lancet was laid out here.

So nothing of actual substance, just semantics, got it (lol, you're not even correct about the semantics).

Yeah an open letter to the people of Gaza has nothing to do with Gaza. 😆
Point being, your source in general has more controversies than a certain dead financier so nobody needs to gaf what they state due to their proven track record of being ever so slightly unreliable. I mean I know you're a troll but even you can do better than this, jeez.
...and? Is this who you mean by "they"? A shady dead paedo? Lol. I also see a suspicious absence of cannibalism in that email.

Do you think pointing out fallacious reasoning is semantics? Also I would point out that semantic disagreements are important to clear up. If we’re not using words in the same way it can lead to equivocation and talking past each other.

Just flatly untrue, Lancet is widely regarded as a top journal and the fact that you have to cherry-pick to find these controversies from 10+ years ago proves it. You still haven't pointed to a single flaw in the study in question.
Remember these guys spent years screeching about how Gaza health authorities are lying because they hate the Jews. Turns out the IDF actually agrees with their numbers, but the holocaust denial crowd is now bitching and whining evidence about how the Lancet is all wrong because they hate the Jews. Not a nanosecond of introspection or intellectual honesty.
The total death count is almost certainly going to exceed 70k with bodies being found for years to come. Killings in wars like this is almost always undercounted early on.
