Anyone beating America’s card room?

I played ACR cash stubbornly for 2 years straight before giving up and losing trust for online poker in general.

I am genuinely curious over the last 3 years if there’s any legit human beating ACR, if so what stakes and would love to see some graphs or something.

I used to have a belief that anyone calling a poker site rigged or full of cheaters was just a losing player looking for excuses. Id be happy if anyone can prove me wrong on my belief of what’s goin on with ACR

Sorry you had to lose for two years before you were willing to see reality.

I asked the same thing a couple years ago and sounded like most people were still in denial about it. Has the consensus finally changed?

A friend of mine is a very strong chess player, which imo requires more effort and intelligence than beating microstakes, maybe small stakes. Yet he is convinced online poker is rigged. Baffles me.

It took me about 3.5 orbits to realize something was amiss with that site.

The problem with the whole "online poker is rigged" argument is that a lot of the people making it are simply people who think idiotic things like "The site helps the worst players win to keep them on the site by giving them better run-outs". Usually this is because these players get their over-cards cracked by runner-runners a few times and that's just down to a lack of understanding of variance.

However there are a lot of problems on certain sites..namely:

  • rampant bot accounts
  • collusion
  • use of real-time-assistance by certain players

Every poker site bans these practice in their terms & conditions but the cracking down of those things is better handled on some sites than others.

From what I've heard any site that's accepting US players from states where online poker is not regulated is suspicious. In the last few years there have been stories about WPT Global, ACR & Ignition/Bovada.

As a Euro who can play on Pokerstars, iPoker or GGPoker I wouldn't go near ACR but I understand that in certain jurisdictions that may be the only option available to people.

It's hard too beat online cash games, but it's doable, ACR tends to have softer MTT than other sites. You could give that a shot, but for cash games shop around. Game selection is very important, you generally want players to call constantly than raising constantly. You'll do better if you evaluate your opponents strength and skill while using those tendencies against them. If you can't start thinking like this in every single hand, find a different game.
