President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Speaking of tariffs.....

New study shows 96% of all U.S. tariff costs are passed straight to American buyers

BUT WHAT ABOUT BIDEN
Shame, I'd love to hear how excited he about the ICE coming to visit in a couple of weeks. He could explain what immigration and customs they will be enforcing in Italy.

I actually suspect that this issue would be tricky for him On the one hand, he definitely detested immigrants, especially ones from non-Western countries. On the other hand, he is probably too Italy-centric to welcome this sort of American involvement in Italian domestic affairs.

No matter your politics, our only hope really, is if we can all at least agree on this:Kimmel:We watched an American executed on video and officials won’t even admit it was a mistake. They called a mom’s SUV a “weapon.” Yes a vehicle can be a weapon JimmyThey called a legally carried gun a threat, even though it was never drawn.
Neither person deserved to be killed but Jimmy shut the fcck up
I'm not sure what's more troubling - how big of a piece of **** you are or how oblivious you are about it.
He's not oblivious to it - like most appalling people he's accepted what he is and doesn't mind flaunting it because he's insouciant about it.
Speaking of tariffs.....
You have to be incredible naive to believe consumers pay 96% of tariffs. They are paid by consumers, owners of the companies and employees. To say owners and employees are barely effected (less than 4% combined between them) by tariffs is just beyond silly no matter your level of education.
If you can, ignore for a moment how stupid it is to say consumers pay 96% of tariffs and think about corporate taxes and who pays them. Now think about who is talking about how bad tariffs are yet are still cheerleading for raising corporate taxes.
If I can make one more point - tariffs are NOT inflationary no matter how bad dems want them to be.

yet....
I'm guessing that tariffs that are paid by consumers, companies and employess..... ABSOLUTELY do not raise prices on goods.
Sounds unlikely.
But the car wasn't used as a weapon.
He didn't have to have a permit on his persons. According to law, depending on the county, it's a minor infraction. The primary point is if he had the legal permits at all, which he did.
In what world do you think officers of the law are trained to shoot people in the back, and unload clips into a disarmed man? Are you following Russian law or something?
No she wasn't... and even if you want to pretend she was, we have videos of her clearly standing down calmly.
You say, they shouldn't been killed, but then you still spew right-wing propaganda, attempting to justify these actions any ways.
Do better. Be better.

If you put a tariff on a candy bar, it doesn't cause inflation much because everything else isn't affected very much. If you put tariffs on 90% of the items people generally buy, the increase in costs would contribute significantly to overall inflation.
If Chevy and Ford are hit with tariffs and Tesla is not, Tesla can and probably still raise prices if its advantageous to do so despite not being hit with tariffs. In short, it definitely contributes to it.
... but to argue in favor of your point, tariffs are a tool that can get reversed where as removing broad inflation isn't so easy.

Our analysis suggests that tariff measures are already exerting measurable upward pressure on consumer prices. The rise in prices beginning in early 2025 coincides closely with tariff developments, and our model-based regressions confirm that these effects are statistically and economically significant.

Another issue with tariffs is that if they are later removed, companies like Chevy, Ford, and Tesla may not lower prices back to pre-tariff levels due to price stickiness and competitive dynamics, which can also create upward pressure on prices.
Inflation is massive everywhere except for gas prices
Gas prices are largely controlled by the middle east
which is why they won't be tariffing all of Canadian products.
Its just another taco teusday.
I love when americans complain about inflation. I mean its smart but your inflation is so much better. its barely a problem yet the american economy is so good. Tarrif and join us I guess

whys he gotta cry half the time hard to take him seriously . Jimmy said someone in the right has to make a change. The right will never want to do that if you always spout this bad faith nonsense. Just because she had dropped her kids off at some point in the day to frame it like that is not gonna build any bridges. she was clearly protesting not dropping off a kid
So she deserved to die and Jimmy Kimmel does too!
Who gives a ****.
Like I agree to some extent that words have largely been diluted through ridiculous overuse to over-frame mundane things but that ship sailed 15 years ago. Jimmy Kimmel says she dropped off her kids, Donald J Trump says shes a domestic terrorist who tried to murder an innocent federal agent with her vehicle. Both sides or something
