To my way of thinking, Seger single-handedly saved rock 'n roll during the 80s. Many of my friends, some of whom I have known my entire life, try to shame me for loving the guy. Seger-shaming I guess you could call it. Maybe there is such a thing as Flyover Rock that I am not supposed to love. Who knows?

At the time, Seger was seen as a distant third behind Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen, but he sings much better than either of those guys.

I think you're right, he has the scent of Pabst Blue Ribbon and flannel on him and didn't give critics as much to talk about.

I was listening to Hank Marvin in Mark Toney in Newcastle this morning.

Also went through South Shields today. This one's for Phat.

Heard a song last week that I knew I'd heard before but couldn't quite place, so I pulled out SoundHound to tell me what it was.

Turns out I hadn't heard the song before, but the chorus-hook is so similar to the song I thought it was that I spent a few days off and on trying to figure out which one.

It finally clicked that this one:

reminded me of this one:

Probably the only Take That song I ever really liked. Though Robbie Williams turned out to be a bit of a legend.

thank you folk for the entangling pentangle Bert Jansch reminder

this appears to be the more popular version of Blackwaterside

but i tend to be more fond of this one

must also be followed by a healthy dose of Blues Run the Game

also this

I didn't realize it's been 8 years since A$AP Rocky's last album. His new album "Don't Be Dumb" is solid. This is my favorite track so far but he's got a lot of bangers on there. Some of his album was composed by Danny Elfman, he makes an appearance in this video as the drummer. He also played drums when Rocky appeared on SNL recently. Super cool collab. Tim Burton also designed the cover art for his new album.

Winona Ryder is freaking adorable in this video.

This just accidentally came together but might be the greatest rock block to play on Fridays at 4:45pm.
