Villain is a stronger TAG thinking player. Hero can play lag at times but for the past hour I’ve been So card dead I’m pretty much just folding pre getting hands that are just trash. Villain would probably view me as tight since he’s only been at the table about an hour or so. Hero is effective stack with about 270.

Villain is in the button and hero is CO.
Villain button straddles $5.

Two limpers in MP and hero raises to $20 with Jd10d. V calls and limpers fold.

Flop ($50) QdQs9s.
Hero bets $35 and V calls.
Turn (120) Js
Hero bets $50 and V calls
River (220) 5h
Hero?

Check/evaluate? He has less than a pot-size bet left, and I doubt he's shoving as a bluff on this board. Seems pretty passive for a TAG. The only reason I can see for that is you keep betting so he's letting you ...

Not sure I continue on turn after getting called on this flop -- especially considering his stack size.

Is the turn bet a value bet or bluff? I don't think you get better to fold on the river. There is a good chance you have the best hand.

I planned on firing on most turn cards. On the turn I picked up some equity if he has a small pocket pair. But really was looking to take it down on the turn. The flush hits on the turn and his call got me thinking.

We have less than pot, what hands are we folding out that beat us? KK? Trip Qs? I doubt it. At best, we make him sigh before calling, but you don't get a kickback for the sigh.

What hands are calling that we beat? Is "TAG" V looking us up with 99?

Barreling off here is a punt. Check, maybe we can bluff catch but it's hard to find bluffs. The problem is that we never gave V a chance to tell us what he has. Triple barreling from OOP is just a terrible line. Throw in a check somewhere to let V decide whether to bet or not. You'll get information when he chooses to bet or check and what size he picks. Instead all the info is coming from us and we're lost because we never gave him a chance to make a decision.
