brokedown palace - from 2nl to the stars (part one)
got depressed over winter and retired from live poker and poker in general. then i came home and was bored and curious if i could still beat the micros on bet rivers and i got crushed at nl10 and nl2.
so i took a couple days off and deposited $10 which turned to vapor. then i deposited $10 again knowing if i kept doing micro deposits eventually one would spring upward.
using strict br mgmt, i've only played 1c/2c and an occasional (less than one per day) mtt.
the next step is building up to $250, and then depositing $100 to give me 35 buyins to play 5c/10c.
after that, i will grind up to $500 and then cashout the $100 i had just deposited.
and play nl10 until i have a couple grand. . .
Current BR - 131.60
i have a 'set it and forget it' attitude about poker. i have already baked in enough strat into my brain to where i know i will put in enough play and achieve my goals. it's basically a sure thing.
this is good for grinding but bad for improving.
i see there is no sticky on top of this forum. and the mods are pretty scarce!
i will usually stay topical itt but will ocasionally spaz the **** out without remorse
What kind of name is this thread?
You might as well rename this thread to shaw shanked back to 2nl
(it's also a tribute to the recently dead member of the grateful dead)
i crush the 2nl on bet rivers.
it's more like an arcade game. mortal kombat poker. chips fly and i can freely abuse and wreck just about everybody.
the hand histories are pretty boring or just lol dumb. i won't share many.
10nl is a little different ballgame.

PWN THESE NEWBS TOOOOOMAAA
Does Bet Rivers allow custom avatars? What you working with there hopefully a dancing bear?
GTO grounded in explo principles
that is what we're striving for eventually
it wouldn't shock me if it turns out betrivers has tons of bots at nl2 programmed to lose intentionally
subbed
waiting for 2nl tables
volume is impacted from the small pool
br is 135 and i hope to get to 160 by the end of the week
hope to get to 250 near the end of the month
over and out
differences between nl2 and nl10
- open jammers. there are many at nl2 shoving down to ATC. this almost never happens at nl10.
- uniform sizing. preflop sizing is smaller and more narrow at nl10.
- gotta play poker. at nl2 you print when you hit, and you give up less when you miss. using this concept with preflop ranges makes you unbeatable. nl10 is more of a 3 street game.
- leaderboard. nl10 gets you on the weekly rake leaderboard worth up to $100 a week if you win.
- games. the nl10 pool is 2-3x bigger
- money, obv. 3-digit swings at nl10, yo.
i guess i'm special in that volume goals are not really +ev for me, i don't even track volume currently.
waiting for the morning games to populate (1 running table), or an open seat. might fire the $2 morning turbo in an hour. hate losing dollars out of the roll to mtts.
got stacked in the SB in my 2nd hand 3-handed. btn limp, i 5x sb, bb call. 522, i bet .24 into .21 with JJ, call. 9x turn, i pot he calls. Qx river i bet my last dollar to my name and got snapped by teh KQ.
games are "bad" at this hour. i may quit and come back around 11.
then again, i look around at the one game running and see 4/5ths of the players vpip over 70.
im not sure the propper volume and flow for this silly little blog. i did some research and other micro bloggers are updating daily so i will too without much remorse.
br dipped to 137. i went to the dispensary and am stocked up and ready to smash these little apes to pieces today.
i know bad times are coming in the future when i move up to nl50. but for now let the good times roll!!!!
brief background-
joined 2p2 in 2006
played 1-2million hands of cash during the boom (nl100 mostly)
black friday sorta coincided with my mental decline
played sparingly on random sites for years
put in good volume when michigan got online poker
started playing live full time -
had a disappointing time, but made some money.
played in spurts in various locales
went to Black Hawk this past november to grind and spend time with a friend
grind wasn't even "awful" but it bankrupted me mentally
my game was then fully broken and i was depressed
came home to never play again
decided why not, i beat these games and it's super convenient from home
made a couple deposits
turned 10 into 137 playing nl2 and some 1 and 2 dollar mtt
decided a thread would be a fun and helpful idea
i'm on the losing end of an all-in war with a 93/80 player lol
edit: busted him, 2 of 3 tables broke, and now we break too.

i had moderate levels of anxiety every time i sat down to play.
prior to sessions i had even more anxiety.
i had the most anxiety walking through the casino to get to the rooms.
i don't know what the big deal was, but i don't get that way playing 2nl online.
i'm on my laptop 10 hours per day anyway.
