Similar to someone like Blake Griffin or Shaq,, Lebron's athleticism is one-dimensional, i.e. downhill and off one leg.... He isn't athletic off screens and in tight spaces, or from a pre-dribble, stationary position (triple-threat position/stance).. And his hangtime, elevation on jumpshots, or air maneuverability is poor... So his athleticism isn't the best-ever for basketball.

And even from a one-dimensional, downhill perspective, Giannis reached greater heights and Luka was a better scorer... And "downhill" is the most basic skillset that results in low-level, unsophisticated offenses - these offenses get destroyed by the Spurs, Warriors, and Nuggets (elite ball movement).

Nearly any NBA player can get 25 ppg in today's format if they're given the green light, and if plus/minus (winning) isn't a factor..
Anyone that thinks 40-year MJ wouldn't average 25+ in today's game can't do math - teams average nearly 15 more points per 100 possessions, and most of that goes to the stars.. The league has mandated an open paint (defensive 3) and automatic penetration (can't impede ballhandlers), so the game has been redesigned to optimize a "downhill" skillset, ballhandlers, and wings in general... Consequently, Curry, Lebron and Durant average more now as old men than they averaged in their prime.
The reality is that the Lakers would be riding Lebron's empty stats all the way into the lottery, but fortunately they have Luka to make it a 1st Round loss instead... Both Luka and Lebron employ the worst brand of ball in history, so it's fitting that they're stuck with each other.. Their horrific chemistry and brand means that neither can produce great teams, regardless of cast.. Their fit is similar to Lebron/Westbrook, except Luka > Westbrook.. In Lebron's case, his teams must overcome this weakness of low team assists to win a playoff series, since they never won a playoff series with less team assists than the opponent - lower team assists are the common thread in every series loss of Lebron's career.
Furthermore, if team assists are a gauge for teamwork, then Lebron needs greater teamwork/team assists to win a playoff series - i.e. he can't carry the load with less team assists and less scoring help like MJ did.
