Trip reports are rather sparse these days so I'll commit to doing one. Here's a link to my last one:
I love it, and I should size bigger like this myself more often. With 3 opponents, no-one is folding Qx and no one is folding spades.
Only argument for betting smaller is to get 8x and pairs like 99 to stick around, but I do think some of these might even call once regardless, especially if they are closing the action.
I like watching the Hungry Horse youtubes. He talks a lot about how his opponents might react to various actions, chooses one and then goes with it. Sometimes he's wrong and people fold, but when he's right, and they're never folding, they pay off big.
What is better flop bet sizing in this hand:
I’m UTG w AhAc and make it 20. Three callers including BB. flop is Qh8s2s. BB checks and I bet 65 into 80 targeting a Q and draws. Everyone folds.

Left Resorts world and got early check-in to Horseshoe. Trip to CVS for supplies. Today it’s 1pm tourney at PH since Matt wants to see that room. Then Binions for steak tonight. I’m sure there will be cash game at some point.

First break of $75 tourney with 20k starting stack. Two hands to note: at 200/400/400 I’m in BB w 10h2h and I check after 5 limpers. Flop is 10d3c6h and I lead 1200. One caller. Turn is 10c and for some reason I check thinking I’ll induce a bet and then raise it. He bets 2500 which surprises me. But I call. River is Ks and I check again. He bets 5000 and I call without really thinking it through. He tables 33 for a boat.
I worked it back up to starting stack.

Got to final table right after break since there were only 20 runners. It folds to me in CO and I have two black 3’s. I shove 16k with blinds 2k/4k/4k. I get called by button with A8o and SB with JTo. I lose. My friend Matt got 2nd which paid $298 on $75 entry.
Walked to Horseshoe and sat down in a new game of 1/3. About 20 minutes in I get Jc9h in BB. Five limpers and I check. Flop is 9cTc KC and everyone checks. Turn is Qc which gives me straight flush. They have $100 high hand every half hour. I look at dealer and say I need some clarification. The guy in seat 5 says “twenty bucks one card only” so I bet $3. One caller and it holds. lol. So I beat the guy who had quad aces.

Cash game session at Horseshoe was fun but the play was very tight with lots of limping and hardly anyone raising or calling raises. Most players are there to try to hit high hand and drink free it seems.
I called a raise to $10 from the button with T9o thinking that I might pick up a small pot when raiser misses the flop. However the BB also calls. Flop is 99T rainbow. Original raiser bets 15 and I call. BB decides to raise to 40. MP folds and I call. My first thought was my disastrous hand yesterday. Turn is Jack. BB checks and I bet 50 thinking a K will call. He snap folds. Oh well.

Did you consider playing a Circuit event when you were at PHo?
Thought about the WSOP circuit briefly. My tourney skills have eroded significantly though. Entry was 400 and there were three Day 1 flights. Concludes tomorrow.

Checks to me and I bet 30 hoping for calls from broadway gutters and flush draws. On the SB calls. Turn is 6h and I bet 65 after it’s checked to me. SB calls. River is 6d and SB checks to me again. I really couldn’t figure out what hands might call me here? I only bet 30 and got called. SB tables KK so my two pair got counterfeited.
I’m UTG w AsAh and make it 15. I get five callers! Flop is 7s7c2s. I bet 40 and get on call. Turn is 3h and I bet 75 and V calls. River is Js and V shoved for his last $78. I call knowing some how I’m beat. He shows 2/4o.
I end up losing 350.

Dinner at Binion’s. Bloody Mary wedge salad. Baked potato bar. NY strip. Banana cream pie. The steak was very good. It surprised me. I rarely get steak at a restaurant. The salad was ok but there’s too much going on with the fried green tomatoes and the little martini onions etc. Dessert was great.

It’s really good. On par with Eggslut and the lines are way shorter.

I think the first hand was played nicely, and the block bet on the river will for sure get called by worse Qx. The guy with KK is obviously a massive fish for playing it so passively, but sadly he got rewarded.
In the second hand, was the flop perhaps 7-2-2 instead of 7-7-2 ?
