That was stupid. What's the fix? Maybe in the final minute of play all fouls outside of the 3 point arc should be 3 free throws, regardless of whether you were shooting or not.

All they need do is call continuation the same way they do for the other 48 minutes

I don't think any solution that creates more free throws would stop teams from fouling. Your choice at that point is still between fouling and giving free throws vs not fouling and taking a guaranteed loss. I'd like to see an automatic runoff like NFL for fouling in the last minute. Maybe take fouls in the end game cost timeouts, and then when you're out of TOs the fouled team gets the time runoff option.

They were fouling in this situation to stop OKC from having any chance at scoring 3 points. All those intentional fouls led to 2 free throws. If they led to 3, they wouldn't have intentionally fouled.

The only way to stop fouling is to do a “reach X points” in the 4th quarter = victory.

For example if score is 98-95 with 5 minutes remaining then team that scores 120 (or more with a FG) first wins the game.

I've seen plenty of end games this season and I can recall this being a real issue only twice, I think the other time was a Cavs-Celtics game so let's maybe hold the thoughts of changing rules of the game to fix an absurd minority of end games

Intentional Fouls and free throws at end of games are not fun.

OKC is fouling to trade 3 for 2 (or better) which is a clear strategic advantage for trailing teams in late game situations. SAS refouling to neutralize this strategy isn't the problem here. If you're proposing they remove the leading team's ability to neutralize the foul bullshit, then it's a carnival game at that point. Just let the trailing team shoot 5-point baskets or whatever in that case if manufacturing fake endgame drama is that important.
