Added some Google to my Portfolio this morning.

As it stands:

My ratio of shares are 6:5:1 (Tesla:Invidia:Google)

I want to improve that to 6:5:4, while starting a new journey with Berkshire.

I loosely know the very first date I played poker. It was in high school during an NFL playoff game -- It would take 5 seconds to ascertain the specifics.

I didn't like it at first! In fact, losing hurt so much that I told everyone that I would never play again.

-----

21 Years Later I find myself feeling a mixture of deja vu and extreme boredom. I've realized over the past year that poker does not hardly inspire me anymore. I don't get excited to play, I usually don't have much fun unless I'm playing with close friends -- and even that I would not want to do for hours a day, every day.

Today I had my last session. I'll play again in the future, but only with the mindset of a recreational, and only if the conditions are perfect.

To all the grinders out there -- I think it's awesome what you do. Keep it up, keep the dream alive as long as possible.

This will be my last 2+2 post ....... as a poker player.

I'm just a dude now.

Thanks for reading.

"I'm burning diesel, burning dinosaur bones
Yeah, I'll take the river down to still water
And ride a pack of dogs"

"And when the dogs are looking for their bones
And it's raining icepicks on your steel shore"

So hardcore loved the video too with all its low budget angsty gyrations and facial contortions.

Most of these numbers were wrong, I was tired.

I'm digging into the Michael Levin podcast with Lex... I would find it hard to believe anyone can listen to it and not want to become a biologist.

I think I'm banned from the community college near my home. I'm sure if I spoke to the right people and showed them I'm a normal person they might lift the ban, but yikes.............I was in a public speaking class during my first onset of psychosis (which I knew nothing about) and confessed that I wanted to blow up the universe as if that was a regular thing to do over the weekend.

12/3

Getting hard work done in the morning is a trait of highly succesful people.

It's keyboard time.

I think a great time to write is when you have nothing particular on your mind.

It forces you to curate words and phrases....

I haven't worked out why that's a good thing quite yet, but I'm willing to push myself through such times and keep on writing.

I did have a really nice and pithy banter sequence during my last poker session versus an opponent with a single front tooth.

He mentioned he had an "8" in his hand, and kept repeating it.

Me: You're occulating.

Him: Occulating.

Me: Yeah exactly, occulating.

Him: Yes I know.

Me: And then you will be fornicating.

Him: Fornicating.

(my partner in crime at the table was dying for a minute...)

There's about 6 inches of snow outside. Winter in the mountains is beautiful.

I said goodbye to a friend this morning. He's a semi-famous poker player, Older guy, retired ex-con, world class card player, and a very good friend to me. You might even know who he is if you are also well connected in poker. No more clues, his identity will remain a secret.

He's kind of a father figure to me. He tells me when I am out of order, and orbit, and he also tells me about my great qualities. He's generous to me like a family member, and has been helpful to me in a lot of ways.

One last clue for people highly interested. His nickname is also a song by Blue's Traveler....

I called up my friend who claims to want to be my writing agent. He texted back asking why I'm up so early. I told him that I'm dedicated to my craft.

I feel slightly less burdened having removed the professional poker mindset from my psyche. My money might never be gambled again....

I bought protein shakes from Wal-mart. It seemed like a good idea until I drank 3 in a row last night because they're so darn good.

I'm holed-up in a motel through Sunday, but I might return home earlier because there isn't much else to do and I want to get on with my life.

My tea's gone cold I'm wondering why
I got out of bed at all.
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all.
Even if I could it would all be grey
But your picture on my wall...

It reminds me it's not so bad, it's not so bad.

"And all I wanted was a lousy letter or a call.

I hope you know I ripped all of your pictures off the wall.

I loved you Slim, we could have been together.

Think about it.

You ruined it now,

I hope you can't sleep and you dream about it

And when you dream I hope you can't sleep and you scream about it

I hope your conscious eats at you and you can't breathe without it."

The mind puzzle of, "What is greater than Bach (J.S.)?" is answered above.

This is one of the most seriously great passages in music or anywhere.

Magnificent.

What started today as an empty vortex is turning into something like what Christmas Day might feel like.

Versus the S&P 500, dating back to July '24.

More English Doldroms:

The phrase "Was great to see you." is not a complete sentence.

To complete the sentence without changing the meaning, we add

"It was great to see you." -- defining the subject in this case.

The problem is that "It" carries definitions of its own.

In the most granular, alien-entity module of the sentence, "It" can be a noun (a person/place/thing -- usually thing)

The thing, in the past, + missing term...great to see you.

This seems like a natural syntax error -- "It was great to see you." is out of order.

But it's not. It's how we're supposed to communicate.

Jensen on Rogan.

I'm halfway through Jensen's podcast. It starts out a little bit slow, but wow....easilly one of my favorite conversations I've heard this year.

"Reasons to open an investment account with only $100"

I've learned a lot about investing since I started investing. For whatever reason, having skin in the game causes you to care more, and to gain insight into the nuts and bolts of how it works.

It's unlikely you will make lots of money starting with $100 and never re-contributing. This is an undeniable fact, and it's what keeps people from doing the smart thing and investing it anyway.

Here's why it's a good idea:

Blue Chip Stocks usually don't move downward significantly and for long periods of time.

Trades are generally free, and selling stocks and cashing out is painless and quick.

So what you have in a stock account, isn't that different than what you have at a bank.

But you have a chance at making > 3% or whatever interest you would gain in the bank.

These are the micro-scale reasons.

But it's much bigger than this--

Going back to my first point about acquiring knowledge while participating...

Imagine all of the lessons you will learn, and how in the future when you have more money to invest, you will then automatically know what to do.

That's the beauty of it. Without depositing $100, when you come across $10,000 and have the gumption to invest, you won't know what to do at first.

You'll need to research, ask around, read, calculate, estimate, and most importantly learn the fundamentals of things like compounding, and how volatile each stock actually is.

My first lesson was a tad brutal. I waited, surveyed, calculated, and made my entry into Tesla right before it dropped about 30% very quickly.

I knew enough not to panic sell. But I was also reserved, and didn't invest more into the company until it recovered. An error in my estimation.

I also made some foolish trades along the way, while the stakes were lower than they are in the present.

---

The point is that everyone with the aptitude to be an investor should already be investing. Whether it's $1, $10, $100, or $1,000 --> these are all similar starting points. But you need to start in order to gain what is necessary to win big in the end.

@MikeHaven - That music stuff is on my to-do list.

12/4

It's Metroid Prime 4 day.

First teased in 2017, it is now out and it's a blast to play.

I'm living in an igloo. The Motel is snowed in and I ain't seein' the outside world very much.

I'm planning on leaving Sunday Morning for home. But I am not so much experiencing a tail between my legs... I won... Poker lost... Next.

The layers of knowledge are decompresing. The momentum to play most everyday is dissipating...

I take in a puff of smoke. It pleases my old bag of bones.

I look towards the East. I see the land of the rising sun: America!

Vegas is no longer my home. I will have to stay in Michigan and bifurcate my skills.

Poker legends, amateurs, regs, fish, and the rest of the lexicon of lore: Most people give up the game at some point.

It really has become an intelllectual dead end for me. Thinking through hand histories is a total waste of brain power. I told my pal that we are Scientists studying a moronic substrate.

I don't actually use words like substrate when I'm speaking, and if I did, I would do the polite thing and loosely define the word before my pal could ask me what the **** I'm talking about.

I think I will be some kind of teacher someday. Breaking things down into simple terms, and using first principles, comes kind of naturally to me.

I promise we'll be perfect.

I made it to the part of Michael Levin's podcast where he talks about extracting embryonic cells. And how they are burdened by their neighbors typically and OMG I'm learning about the building blocks of brand new life forms.

Dunno why. Fibonacci is really pleasing.
