I started Eddington and Superman. Couldn't get through more than a half hour of each. The rest of the choices look ok. You're right. Much of the hyped stuff isn't released yet.

Eddington might be too fresh a wound to tackle. Aster's take on the beginning of covid and he sprinkles in BLM protests, Antifa stuff, healthy dose of racism, woke white teenagers constantly speaking up and constantly reminding people of their privilege. I think Eddington is the definitive covid movie and will likely age very well. In 15-20 years people may look back and wonder how/why Eddington got overlooked by the masses.
As for Superman, I'm a sucker for a superhero dog. I also appreciate that Lex Luthor arrived as a fully formed villain, there was no origin story build up. Dude is just a badass and Hoult played him very well.

I haven't have seen some of these, but I've seen most, and these are solid picks. I'd probably put Nosferatu in a top 10 myself, but not sure what else. Maybe Final Destination Bloodlines and The Monkey 😀
Very pleased you rate The Long Walk as top 10, I thought it was excellent.
Ah yes I love Nosferatu. I probably should have had that in over Superman. The Long Walk is terrific. David Jonsson first popped up on my radar in Industry. I hope he continues to take over Hollywood with performances like The Long Walk. I had a lot of fun with Final Destination and The Monkey.
One that didn’t make my list, mostly because I rated it 3/5 is The Ballad of Wallis Island. I think most ppl will enjoy it, but the main character is bloody annoying and I couldn’t get past him. It’s a good premise. Some rich guy from an ultra remote island pays a washed up rock and roller to come play a show, but he doesn’t mention he’ll be playing for an audience of one.
where else, but in Deutschland, can you make a film where a crazed Doctor artificially inseminates a local Whore with the sperm of a Criminally Condemned Man... only to bear a female child that is secretly raised by this learned Man as his own... ultimately falling in love with her and tortuously befalling to his Lust and eventual doom when she learns of her true origins...

My copy has arrived. It came as a pair with Student of Prague 1926. It blows my mind that these two silent movies are both over 2 hours. I always thought even the longest movies in the silent era were maybe 100 minutes tops.

A creepy ass kid decides to stop physically growing in 1924, constantly bangs his tin drum and shatters a lot of glass with his high pitched wailing, while observing the rise of Nazi Germany in this overlong and just plain weird arthouse flick, that ultimately didn't really do anything for me. And those Nazis were real jerks.

You're a cyborg if this didn't at least mist up your eyes. Banshees is incredible from top to bottom. Razor sharp writing, deeply rooted characters and some of the most beautiful landscapes I've seen in recent years. The cast is aces.

at least he didn't throw in some fat or midget jokes along the way in this one
