Hi, kind of had a moment today and realized I have to take myself serious or more serious in the physical part of life.
Theyres plenty of successful $2/$5 players. My goal is to play $2/$5 plo where the hourly is about 1.5 to 2x higher than nl as well. I have experience playing higher stakes also This is from couple months ago... Played and lost a $2,700 pot had 99 on 9323 board. Among some other big pots.

Sounds like excuse me if I'm wrong but you do sound like you "might," not of spoken from a place that would be around that many poker professionals.
I'm starting working out in few months. This is me at 20 y.o.
I have played over a million hands.
While the winrate for plo maybe higher than NL, so is the variance. So EV/Var might still be lower.
Unfortunately with live poker, it would take a sample of 3000 hours of play to come up with somewhat meaningfull winrate. That's over 40 hours of play per week for over a year.
We have tons of o online winrate data from the last 20 years and the very best players had a winrate of around 10bb/100. I understand live games are more profitable but still outrageous to think you can make more than 25 dollars an hour at 2-5 plo. Maybe with straddles and some short handed play with low to zero rake. But thats being optimistic.
Unfortunately live players winrates are unreliable. Online at least we had proof, most live players don't even keep a journal. And those that do, their results are tainted by survivorship bias (they basically ran hot).
Pass brother, get a job. Poker is dying and live poker is way too slow. I am being extremely generous to say we are playing 30 hands per hour at a live table. Table of drunks its probably 15 hands per hour.
If we could play 4 cash tables at a time, then I would change my mind. I would only ever play again if I can play 10+tables at a time. But bots.

You as well please don't comment in my thread. This is a thread about a little aspect of my life on an online forum. To have the audacity to give such advice is very disrespectful. Please don't comment in my thread again.

LoL. I'm going from NY to write requests for Global. I get $1075 in a.s.i. and I'm putting $800 of it towards the postage each month so basically like 850 $5 requests. It takes about 4 months for each batch to hit you Global account so I'm planning on staying there a year and once the first batch comes in financing an s.u.v. and than reinvesting the months prior till my 42nd bd
hey man, what does this mean? I'm not from the US, where this might make sense.
also, re loco. he actually means well, albeit his way of spitting unsolicited advice can rankle and make it seem like he's being a dick. in his defence he has been on the gambol his entire adult life (I think) and all those guys generally advise people out of a similar lifestyle and also have seen/experienced proper variance and so are fairly cynical (realistic maybe?) around the swings, win rates etc
I understand but I'm not here to get to know people and form meaningful connections. Not being mean I'm just here to make my log and poker info.

My plan actually in regard to poker is to write enough requests to either get into the $2/$5 plo game where I feel like I definitely could make at least $30/hour or to continue writing the requests for however long as possible. With the $12k thought I was a little overwhelmed when I wrote that so.. but my idea was even if I make $17/hour at $1/$3 I'd still be able to save up a good enough amount to get into the same $2/$5 plo game since I have no extra expenses. Forget person who wrote to get a job at starbucks but in a reality based way from your heart which makes up your world I don't want to I rather play poker. It wouldn't be so bad cuz I'm a happy nice person in general but I like said just don't want to do that. That's like telling someone well exactly what it really is telling them to do something in life without knowing anything about them to do something that takes up the majority of their life... THATS Why I thought it was quite rude and kind of disgusted me honestly.
I asked earlier but maybe it got lost - what does 'writing requests' mean and how does that make you money?
I've never heard that terminology before - am not from US but can't find anything online either
Please don't post on my thread again.
