President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

At the time of the election, the economy was in much better shape than it had been when Biden took office.- But most voters are stupid. The two main reasons that inflation got so bad were started by Trump himself (shutting down the economy and sending out free money). After that BS had started, it was difficult to get it turned around.

And the Inflation reduction bill didn’t help and let’s remember Biden the border is closed.

Let’s not forget they appointed Queen Kamala who would have never won a shortened primary and don’t tell us there wasn’t enough time . Every other country calls an election and has it shortly after

you support a racist. your criticisms are invalid

Well, thank goodness the pedo has inflation ticking up again while the job market is crumbling. But hey, the masked gestapo is ridding us of brown people. Certainly a better alternative than kamala.

I doubt inflation would look much different if Clinton had won in 2016/20 or if Trump had been re-elected in 2020.

The big drivers of the inflation spike, COVID shutdowns, global supply-chain breakdowns, energy shocks, etc would have happened under any administration. And both parties supported huge stimulus spending on the demand side.

That's probably true. I would say the only uncertainty is if someone more competent than Trump ie anyone was POTUS would they have been able to mitigate the economic damage from covid and lessen the economic impact. Obviously given the damage, broad stimulus was the only option no matter who was in charge. But early on, if you had people smarter than Jared Kushner and Pence running point things could have been different. At the least these guys were so unprepared and unqualified that it's an open question.

Your not wrong about the orange man (sadly you have no proof that he is a pedo) No they are getting rid of illegal immigrants you may not like the extremes he is going to but that was a campaign promise .

Yes what would a Kamala presidency look like ? Another 20 million in illegals, smaller deficit than Trump ?

So you think he should be impeached?

For what offense?

Yeah, most of the recent inflation isn’t really from too much money in the system or short-term supply chain bottlenecks from the pandemic but mostly structural issues in supply chains, like labor shortages, logistics, etc.

At the end of the day, though, aside from the inflation caused by supply shocks, it’s roughly a wash: what the people got in stimulus was mostly offset by what the people lost to higher prices.

For what offense?

You described him as corrupt, you tell us.

The only thing propping up the economy right now is the massive ai spending by the mega corporations which is propping up the stock market which in turn is maintaining spending by the upper class. If that wasn't happening our economy would be in the toilet.

by lozen

For what offense?

Irrelevant. He's dirty and corrupt, so you want him out of office, yes? He's definitely committed multiple impeachment worthy offenses, especially if you even you are willing to call him corrupt and dirty. I could give you several, but then you'd spend your time justifying or denying those, so let's do it this way instead:

You would prefer he be removed from office over remaining in office? Yes or no. If he's corrupt and dirty, as you claimed, this should be a very simple thing to answer.

rape is not disqualifying for this ilk

Yes, that's been obvious for a long time. I'm curious now if being "corrupt and dirty" would be disqualifying. We have one admitting that he's corrupt and dirty, so we'll see if he can bring himself to say that that's enough to prefer he not be president. It's a simple yes or no. Stay tuned.

when has rape ever been disqualifying for any American president? Id say that almost all of them committed at least sexual assault like Biden if not rape like Clinton and Trump.

So if a commercial airliner flies their planned route through airspace *waves arms vaguely* surrounding Venezuela, what happens? Will he order the military to shoot it down?

Is this one of those policies you support lozen?

Lozen?

Yes I would and than JD Vance would be president

Presidents get the credit when things are good and the blame when things are bad. No one gets elected because people want them to say it is not my fault. It is hard to made the case for things going "great" when wage growth was under inflation over the four years from 2021-24. That was what people felt when it came to the cost off living.

And I am not making that point as a Democratic or Republican thing. Republicans are likely going to pay the price in the midterms and the 2028 Presidential election if things keep trending the way they are.

I also am on board with this option.

by Gorgonian

So you think he should be impeached?

McConnell's (completely made up) excuse for not convicting Trump for lying about the 2020 election and causing an invasion of the Capitol was Congress has no authority to conduct a trial for someone not in office. He is in office now, so presumably he would have to make up another reason.

the Soviets were the good guys. stay mad that they took out the Nazis tho.

This here is why you don't take Tankies seriously, crying about the genocide in Gaza meanwhile believing Stalin was a good guy .... There's no need for more exchanges with a brain so broken like this...

by Gorgonian

So you think he should be impeached?

The impeachment process does not appear to be an effective check on the power of US presidents, who are to all intents and purposes above the law.
