CA AB831 seeks to ban sweepstakes gambling

Looks like Stake.us is officially closing operations in California on December 30th, but will still allow redemption for an unspecified time afterwards(not that I'll be waiting to find out how long they allow that).

Being in LA, this saddens me. I assume Clubs Poker will be as well, but I don't play there much. Guess there's a chance WPT might still be open to Cali residents, at least for a little while?

I don't know much about the current online poker landscape nowadays, but are there any sites comparable in softness to Stake.us available in California? Or would my best option be to just start playing live more often once this shut down happens? I'm currently playing mostly at the 100NL/200NL tables. Figured the ungodly rake and no HUD environment made the tables pretty soft.
