President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

The only joy I'm getting from all this nonsense is watching Kash Patel. He just looks like he's just screaming to himself over and over 'oh ****, oh ****, oh ****'

Kash literally always look like that. Like he's just been caught while beating it in the women's toilets.

Show

It's stepped up a little. He's looking like one of the characters from Scanners now, just before their heads explode.

The left really needs to tone down the rhetoric

I genuinely think people underestimate how effective projection is, in brainwashing your base, and downplaying your actual insidious intentions.

Take exhibit A. Steven Miller today. Miller is essentially just projecting. But to his base, they will believe everything said here. So when democrats accuse Trump and this admin of actual insurrection, or fascist behavior, it falls flat. These false equivalencies bend people's realities so that they end up saying, "both sides do it. So it doesn't matter."

I can't tell you how many times I've heard those words.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/...

STEPHEN MILLER: It is insurrection, plainly, directly, without question.

And when you have one of the lawmakers on that video being unable to state in, as you say, lengthy cross-examination a single so-called illegal order, it just proves the point. It's a general call for rebellion from the CIA and the Armed Services of the United States by Democrat lawmakers, saying that you have not only the right, but the duty and the obligation to defy orders of the commander in chief.

That those who carry weapons in America's name should defy their chain of command and engage in open acts of insurrection, that the CIA, the clandestine service, which isn't even legally authorized to operate in the United States, should engage in, again, acts of rebellion and insurrection.

These lawmakers should honestly resign in disgrace and never return to public office again for even daring to think, let alone to say these words, and to say them proudly. But it shows what a dangerous moment we're in. We have seen the Democratic Party nurse the flames of violence and insurrection against the federal government for the last 10 months.

-----------------

Now we know the video in question didn't say any such thing. It was a reminder to the military and people in public office, you have a duty to the constitution. You are obligated to refuse illegal requests, no matter who it comes from.

So why are Trump and Miller so upset? If you've been listening, and clearly the democratic party has been, they've been slowly grooming the military to treat their opposition as "nats" as Trump said. They have been grooming them to be OK w/ illegal orders, and turning against your fellow Americans. We're getting into some really historically scary territory right now imho.

We now live in a world where the right can spot insurrection and the left can spot dementia patients. That's all positive in a way.

What a likable guy

Howard Finebaum said on the Tony Kornheiser Show in early 2016 post Iowa caucuses that he “liked” Trump the one time he met him; iirc it was a golf/lunch thing at one of Trump’s courses a decade or so prior. Said he was “funny” and “a good host”.

This was back in the headscratching days re Trump for establishment Eastern media liberals who voted for JFK-LBJ-HHH-Nixon.

I actually like Finebaum and the TK Show. Mainlined nostalgia for watching The McLaughlin Group, The Firing Line, Novak & Evans on PBS. No Sunday Night Football back then!

yes, where are the persons who saying the right isnt having a violent rhetoric and its always the left ?

so if i get this right, its illegal to make death threats towards the president but its ok for the president to make death threats toward his political adversaries (or anyone for that matter)?

ah yes forgot, trump got immunity, can do w.e he wants, even death threats.
true american freedom.

ps: certainly not a hint that trump is mentally unfit or deranged for the maga ?

So swastikas are no longer a hate symbol in Trump's America.

The left though.

Has MBS hanging out at the White House and two days later he's calling for the executions of his political adversaries.

I wonder if Pence is remorseful yet for not putting the kibosh on it.

Trump meeting Mamdani should be great TV

The very existence of a free press is a threat to this
president’s modus operandi, which is to govern by lying.

In today’s political reality, poking the president not only risks
a journalist’s job (ask former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta),
it also risks the very existence of his or her employer.

Great read from Dan Rather:

From the people that love to go on about snowflakes and cancel culture.

For context, just so you understand the point.
Mark Epstein (brother) says to Jeffrey:
"Ask him [Steve Bannon] if putin has a photo of Trump giving Bubba [Bill Clinton] a blow job."
Why ask Bannon? Because Bannon is one of Trump's closest associates during his first term, and he was also close with Epstein. He says Bannon must know everything.
Why giving Clinton a blow job? Because Clinton was allegedly one of Epstein's clients.
So Mark Epstein (brother), trying to understand why Trump is so accommodating to putin, jokingly asks Jeffrey: did Trump accidentally give [your client] Clinton a blow job, and did it in such a way that putin has a photo?
So it was said jokingly. But jokes aside, seven years later Trump continues to roll out the red carpet for the dictator, and no one can still understand why he did it.

A few days ago, I gave some thought to creating an alt-account named AgentOrange. In that alt-account, I was going to pretend to have voted twice for Trump. And I was going to defend having done so using what I believed were the best arguments available. I was curious to see the extent to which it was possible to build a logical argument for voting for Trump and curious to see what the reaction among left-wing posters would be to a Trump voter who posted in a similar style to the way I post. I wasn't going to be a zealot. I was going to admit that Trump was a deeply flawed person and that he had done some things that were entirely indefensible. The plan, of course, was to reveal after a week or so that I was the alt and that the whole thing was an experiment.

I ultimately decided not to bother because I thought it would be too ridiculous to use this account to interact with the alt-account, and I thought it would be too obvious that I was the alt if I didn't do so.

er, why?

hmmm 🙄

I obviously didn't actually vote for Trump.

by diebitter

er, why?

Idk. I guess to see if it was possible to build a remotely defensible argument for having voted for Trump. There is no argument that I would actually find persuasive.

I know, just think it'd sound awfully suspicious voting twice for him yet fulfilling the other bits.

It would, but I didn't see any possible way to defend things like denying the results of the 2020 election and outright grift.
