In fairness what other accounts would do? I mean the Chinese are hardly going to admit to it, are they? Not saying there's no context or nuance but two things can be true at once, in the sense that China has suffered Islamic terrorism, some perpetrated by Uyghurs, but at the very least are engaging in persecution and gross human rights violations in combating it.

Fair enough. The whole "genocide" label has been completely overblown to the point of being meaningless. I tend to think China is handling the situation well. The irony of my post is if Hasan, and other western leftists, actually understood anything about China/CCP I doubt he would support it like he does. Most of his support seems to stem from his own ignorance and projections.
If the western world is to survive I do think we need to take some lessons from places like Saudi Arabia, China and Singapore how to handle violent religious extremism. Although I am not hopeful we will. Short of a Spain 1492 type event I suspect it is already too late for much of Europe.
