Non-important question: When moving a room, do they keep the old room open until the last table breaks, or do they pick up the players and move them at new room's opening time?

by BadLieutenant

Oh it will take off, give it a min until it's back being infested with nits grinding rewards tiers.

Regarding the location, I’ve played there a few times in the early afternoon to kill time…only a few tables, nit and reg city. It’s such a great location that even though I notice a handful of regs you get so many random walk ins and drunks/bad players starting in the evening and going through the night I absolutely love it. It just makes for a fun overall atmosphere too.

Hopefully most of the nits stay at Horseshoe because of the high hand promos (or something).

Because Caesars usually has 2/5 running, the 2/5 predators like to play in the 1/3. They're usually able to run over the table, but if you recognize what's going on, and get a little lucky too, you can sting them pretty good.

What I have seen in the past, but not Caesars and not Vegas, old room is closed at a specified time. Necessities get moved. This was usually tables, chips, etc. So there was a period where there was ‘no room’.

This time could be X hours or even y days. When Beau Rivage moved I think it might have been closed for 2 days. Was at least 1 day.

Obviously, at Caesars, at most was a few hours.

Talking Stick moved their room a couple of times over the last 4 or so years. Each time, it was scheduled maybe 1 month in advance, and was closed a day or two between rooms. But we're talking 50+ tables, kitchen, etc. I wasn't there, but I think they set a drop-dead time that all games would stop. Pretty sure it was after 0200, and then re-opened 10am two days later.

Have they moved it since it was put in a real building, like where it is now? I can't imagine them moving it now because it's like that area of the building was built for it.

They moved out of their purpose-built poker room (The Arena) into a portable/temporary (big) building outside the valet area. They moved back to their "permanent" purpose-built poker room (Is it still The Arena?) after that. New room is very nice, if you haven't been here in a year or more, since they moved back. New sportsbook, keno and stadium-style electronic pit games also added with the poker room.

I was there last year I think, for a state championship satellite. I intended to play this year but completely forgot about it.

Caesar's IN THE REGULAR LOCATION is easily the most fun room in Vegas.
I'll happily die on this hill.
The bar is right by the tables so drink service is fast
The club is right there so the Parade of Hotties offers endless eye candy in between hands
The room is just the right amount of rowdy and messy with drink cups and beer bottles to feel like it's a party
The absolutely massive sports book and monitors are right there, feels like the center of the sports gambling universe
Sharks are few and far between so you can actually have fun
Foot traffic is unreal with tons of players jumping in to just gamble a bit at night

Yes, during the day it's super tight, but since when has that been a problem in regards to grinding it up?
I'll happily take down $45 pots over an over on the flop with a cbet IP on raggedy flops
At night it loosens up a lot

The only reason people crap on the room is they are poker snobs

It's the most FUN room by far,
It's not the best room if you're looking for insane action at 2PM
or a morgue-like atmosphere with GTO nerds
or think of poker as your job
If you go during June, during the WSOP,
when the NBA and NHL finals, College Baseball World Series and this summer the World Cup is on
and you dont have fun in that room, the problem is you.

You know, some of us are profitable AND a lot of fun too.
See you all there this June (you'll know it's me since I'll be the one wearing the Bears Ditka jersey)

This. Thank you.

I’ve been there a lot, but especially right when the NCAAM Final was going on when Purdue won I don’t think there is a poker room on earth I would have rather been in.

Cant wait to check it out again tomorrow night.

PLUS, it has fairly regular 2/5 games. The bad part is when those players troll the 1/3 games.

I think u forget how quickly the poker ecosystem balances itself out on the Strip. There are exponentially more evening grinders on the Strip now than there were before the Caesar's poker room closed. The infestation will quickly migrate to Caesar's if it's that good. You'll soon find out.

It's true. The poker room is now back in the old location, next to the Sportsbook.

How can a 2/5 player troll a 1/3 game?

they max buy in and inflate every pot beyond the typical 1/3 player's comfort.
most recs who sit down to play 1/3 want to just sit and relax for a while, they don't want to play $200 pots every hand where any bad beat or suckout ruins their daily bankroll. most 2/5 players have a bankroll to withstand a $600+ downswing; most 1/3s do not

You should pretty much always max buy in to every game. You should also have proper bankroll to play 1/3 where losing a full buyin doesn’t really matter. Or if you are a tourist that’s fine too, even more reason not to care

CP is a tourist room. Nobody cares about bankroll, they're just there to gamble it up. And if there are OMC / El Diesel types in a game, F them. They make games bad. Everyone should be driving them out.

What he said. Plus, they play better i general.

Other than the WSOP, I can only play a few times a year. So I'm a tourist. Doesn't mean I want to just flush my money every time I play. Ideally I can keep the rust to a minimum until the summer.

the people that chase out the rec players are the ones that later complain Vegas is too full of regs/pros and the games are bad

[emoji457][emoji457] Exactly.

I was just responding to the question of how do 2/5 players troll a 1/3 game. I have seen this happen at various times. I'm not advocating for a specific style or strategy, but it is frustrating for a player looking to play a certain type of game and one or two players come in and turn it into a much bigger game. not all players are looking for the biggest games (and that doesn't make them nits)

Just to make clear i wasnt sarcastic at all in my last post,i really think your statement was a bullseye.

by Petrucci

Just to make clear... Regs/pros just have to be willing to sacrifice a little bit of shortterm EV for the sake of recs and better games longterm.

Make me!

"Most fun room" LMAO.

Looks so depressing every time I walk by, also, this "play later because there's drunk people" concept is not true anymore because every weekend warrior grinder thinks the same way.

I might play around 3am when I leave Omnia to see if I'm right, however, it'll have to be a regular weekend not F1 weekend.
