In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there a
The citizens of Virginia voted for the politicians who appointed the people who hired the people who ignored all the warnings and allowed the shooting to happen.
Allowing a by all accounts severely disturbed 6yo in a public school classroom, constantly supervised or not, is a result of numerous policies with broad bipartisan support on local, state, and federal levels.
What specific policies do you think led to this? The court seemed to blame it all on the one employee.
Read up on him. I’m not where Rob is quite yet, but he needs help far beyond what any family or school can provide.
Children at that age don’t have the moral or cognitive abilities to discern long term consequences. They are imitating the adults in their lives, and that’s fixable.
I have no opinion on this specific situation but I would surmise that of the billions of people in the world some are occasionally born "evil" with ****ed up wiring
Regardless of the gun storage laws, anyone whose child gets their gun and shoots someone should serve prison time, have all children permanently placed with someone else, and never be allowed to be alone with children for their life. I also think the child should be humanely put down, just like would be done to a dog who attacks people. That boy is just a bomb waiting to explode
Wow.
It seems like there’s not much evidence there that says that children who commit “murder” are more likely to reoffend than adults that commit murder. Given their inherrently diminished capacity to have the proper state of mind to be determined as having irredeemable psychopathy, there doesn’t seem much point in treating them more harshly than adult murders. Surely no one thinks that adult murders should receive automatic capital punishment now that Luciom is gone, so why exactly would we hold children to a more severe standard?
I repeat, deep dive into the case. This kid has either been severely abused, raised by the worst violent criminals ever, or is badly miswired.
He was not in any way a normal 6yo long before the shooting. Mainstreaming him was probably harming him as much as anyone else.

Less severe. I think most adult murderers shouldn't receive automatic capital punishment because that is way too easy on them.
Instead, they should be held in prison forever with no chance for parole, and it should be the worst kind of prison imaginable.
When a killing is done by a being who does not have access to human reason (most often a dog), we do not lock that animal up in a small cage for the rest of its life. It doesn't understand what it did, so it would be cruel to punish it in that way. Instead, the being is put to sleep in a humane manner.
Other brings who do not have access to (adult) human reason include the mentally ill (including the temporarily insane), the severely mentally handicapped (who have the brain of a young child), and actual young children.
Society needs to be protected by such beings, because they don't understand what they have done or why they did it. It would be cruel to lock such people in a cage for the rest of their lives, so a humane execution (one they aren't even aware will be coming) is the most humane way to protect the public from those with human bodies but not fully human minds.
The dems offered a deal to extend obamacare subsidies for a year to open the gubberment. Doesn't look like the repubs will take it.

You don't say...
The Border Patrol official tasked with leading the Trump administration's immigration enforcement crackdown in Chicago admitted to lying about a rock-throwing incident used to justify deploying tear gas against protesters, U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis said Thursday before issuing a preliminary injunction limiting the use of force during immigration arrests and protests.

I have to wonder if the guys on the boats are just poor schmucks the real bad guys hire for almost nothing and that the cartels (or whoever is responsible) is chalking this up to cost of doing business.

It may or may not have been you who used the “ticking time bomb” phrase for both Muslims and Catholics, but it’s a term that’s been used to generalize situations that should really be looked at individually. Not every child who came across a gun and did something terrible deserves death - which I think you’d agree with if spoke about it rationally.

This is Luciom levels of violence and delusion, just fyi
Imagine typing into today’s internet that the world needs to be protected from young children and not that young children need to be protected from the world
I’d put you to sleep before literally any 6 year old

I hate all religion, but I never said anything about them being a time bomb.
Anyway though, my opinion on this has nothing to do with "deserving" anything. I do think it would be cruel to lock up a child for the rest of his life for something he did without a fully developed brain, just like I think it would be cruel to lock up a rabid dog for life. But society needs to be protected from that dog and that child, and those two possibilities are the only way to accomplish that.
