2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Bowers faders are down bad. You simply love to see it.
Only did 1 BR and 1 WC this week. Missed on both.
Won half my $ back in DFS.
Doing okay in the 3Q for now.
I lost a bunch today.
Got bowers and a couple other things right, but Chiefs dbl failed miserably and that was my base for everything on dk. Tracy dud didn’t help either
Made back my money on brs bc of bowers
Looks like every fading the week 12 teams in the 3Q was the play.
Would you trade Lamar for Jayden + 2 1sts on a fringe playoff team that likely can’t win this year?
Dynasty 10x10 SF TEP
I was offered Jayden + 1 1st and I don’t think that’s enough so considering countering for 2
Jayden + one 1st is likely fair value. Jayden and Lamar were both top 5 picks in startups coming into the season. The injury situation and overall disappointment of Washington gives the value edge to Lamar, but I'm not sure it's much more than a single first. I expect both will be top 5 picks in startups again next offseason, with the Jayden owner paying for Lamar production now.
Jayden + 2 1sts would be a win if you're a fringe playoff team that doesn't have much ship equity.
Ya, that worked out pretty well. I'm currently advancing 3/20, with some sweats tonight. Only 1 of the 3 is locked. I have a couple of 3rd/4th place teams that could maybe find a way. Hoping to advance at least 3 to be around expectation.
They dropped the 4Q contest. I'm happy they skipped week 13 and made it 14-17. But that heavily penalizes the W14 bye teams.
I refuse to take the risk of fading CMC and just hope I can build some teams that advance around him, so I'll probably aim to be around 8%. I'll fade Kittle and probably Purdy + the pass catches.
I'll probably mostly fade Pats, even Maye, with his cost being high at QB4.
Giants will mostly be easy to fade. Same with the Panthers.
My goal is 100 teams having around a month to draft until it closes. Though, I expect it to probably close a week or so before lock. We'll see if I get there. I'll be happy with 75+.
Nice! GL!
I'm advancing 8/20, but didn't really look to see if any are safe.
My first 4Q team.
Some notable picks.
CMC went 8, Saquon 12, Bowers 31, Gadsden 65, Hampton 77, Loveland 123, Parker 145 (ass hole sniped me after I took Fannin). Hunter went 148. I'll probably mix in a few shares at that price.
Some aggressive picks too. Kittle 37, Harvey 79, Horton 110.
Musgrave went 188.
Looks good other than Tua.
Haha because you think he gets benched? Hard to not take a shot at 191 with Waddle. Cincy in w16. Pass funnel Bucs in w17.
I'd say about a 5% chance right now he's benched by then.
w14 and 15 in cold weather environment doesn't seem enticing either. especially with how poorly he's played this season.
Fair points. But he's more likely to pay off that price than almost anyone else in that range, except maybe some of the TEs. Like Njoku is still pick 188. Taylor 181. Strange didn't have an ADP, but he should hopefully be back by week 14.
I'll be drafting Fields too, knowing he could be on the bench for those weeks.
Speaking of QB uncertainty, 18th round Burrow seems worthy of being mixed in.
I got 4th in dfs tonight . Would have won With one more lamb catch
Advanced 9/20 in the 3Q with only 1 of them finishing in 1st.
Spoiler
Small profit in DFS tonight, but zero chance I was winning anything when this is what won it all.
Spoiler
I had only 20 lineups. I faded the defenses. I had Brisset and Marv in all my captain spots.
I got everything right on the main slate except having a ton of Gibbs which ultimately killed me. I even played 40% Loveland.
I realize DFS is a total scam but I enjoy making lineups.
Nice work! I ended up getting another through for 4/20. 3 1sts and one 2nd. I had a 4th place team score 134 haha. Turns out the top 4 picks weren't all they were made out to be. CMC the only good pick of the top 4 backs.
