CG action during/around F1 in Vegas

my first trip that includes the F1 spectacle coming up, are the cash games (PLO) special during that time, or business as usual?

also: any tips on a good (affordable) viewing experience for the race?

the poker will be the same as always.
you can check on bravo or poker atlas for special promotions or directly to specific poker rooms via phone

Some of the cheaper tickets for the race could have you paying a lot just for standing area with a disappointing view. Some people were pretty upset about that last year.

Looks like the ticket prices for Friday night (qualifying) are much better. I wouldn’t bother with Thursday night after what happened 2 years ago.

What price range are we talking?
What do you mean (happened 2 years ago)?

I'm pretty sure a quick google search will give you ticket prices 😉

It was a water valve on course (another quick search). Doubt that happens again, and it could be any time if it does.

It cost at least one team hundreds of thousands in damage when their car hit it at 200 mph.

I know. Another reason it "probably" won't happen again. At least it was during practice. Feel sorry for the team, though, but glad no major injuries.

Ah, Google … yeah, hadn’t thought of that … ;-))

I was obviously looking for some locals insight if there’s a way to get a good seat/place somewhere without having to pay stupid money

Also: what’s the correlation between that incident 2 years ago and ticket prices today???

People waited outside in the cold for the practice to start, watched the cars for only a few minutes, and that’s all they got to see.

Then fans waited several hours outside in cold temperatures during the delay after being told they were going to watch the practice if they waited, then were told to leave by police and security before they could see anything. Then the practice resumed later without the fans that paid to see it. Then instead of a refund F1 said they hoped the fans would understand, said “It happens” and offered free merch.

Yeah it probably won’t happen again but after hearing about that, personally I’d rather go on Friday or Saturday. And one of the reasons for practice night is they can identify any issues with the track like that.

I haven’t looked around too much or on the official site, and prices might drop closer to the event. On an app I saw it costs hundreds on Friday and some of the less expensive areas cost around $2k on Saturday. Cheapest spots I saw on Friday were around $200-$300.

If you’re paying less than $1k on Saturday you should try to make sure it’s not a lousy standing area with a bad view. People put up videos on social media last year complaining about it.

Thursday is the cheapest day, and probably nothing will happen. Probably.

2k for a bad seat??? thx but no thx ;-)))
guess ill be playing at aria and watch it on the tv screens as usual

The best overall value is in your room - it's free on your tv. You even get to hear it.

$2k is insane. I wonder how much the hotel rooms with a view were? (I'm sure they are all sold out.)

I doubt it. They might get sold out just before the race, but the way everyone is avoiding Vegas, there will probably be deals right up until race week.

I would think a room with a view of the race would be money better spent than $2, 000 to stand in a crowd for one day and maybe see the race 😉

Edit: Maybe not. Cosmo is almost $5k per night! LOL.

I just checked Paris. I can get race-day Strip view for under $600. I'm sure if I checked Venetian, it would prob be closer to that 2k right now.

But the view will be MUCH better on tv. When they go past Flamingo they'll be going 200+ mph. You won't be able to see anything.

I'd go with Paris -- you can see them for three days for ~$2k and watch them on your TV!

well, but thats the thing, no?
seen a lot of races on TV, sure its fine ... but see (and feel) the real speed especially at a place you know like the strip (not some anonymous race track somewhere) where cars normally go with 20-30mph or whatever ...

i'll try to get a place/seat somewhere and report back after

. really wanna see it live (not on TV)

Why not try to get a room at Paris? Would really suck to pay a bunch and not see anything!!! Good luck.

I saw the 2 Vegas races in the early 80's live. The huge difference is I could see the whole track. On the current track you're lucky to see 2 corners from your seat.

If you're a fan of automotive technology it's terrific if you can get a garage pass, if they have those any more.

At any rate, if you go I'm sure you'll have a good time. It kinda sucks that they've raised prices so much, like Vegas.

A cheaper way would be to watch practice live for a lot less money. They will still be going very fast. If you're interested in the championship and care about Verstappen's race plan, then you want to see the race. But if you just want to see cars go 200 mph, pay to watch practice live, but watch the race on tv and save a lot of money.

Sounds like the PLO games would be special if they happen to have a lot of highly-skilled PLO Euro F1 fans visiting.
