I have no idea why you keep bringing it up. It obviously, given its age, doesn't completely represent the state of science today so its weird to bring up. But your metaphor is all wrong - there was and still is a wolf! The documentary did a pretty good job albiet not perfect job of capturing the science of the day and its core message remains true today as it was then, this was an example of calling wolf and there actually was a wolf and we actually should have done something.

But this just goes to show you don't have any objections to using the not withstanding clause to pursue your culture war views, you just don't like it when Smith uses it on an issue you aren't as opposed to. We have courts for a reason. They get to interpret if a bill does or does not violate rights or freedoms. Personally I think the notwithstanding clause should be rarely if ever used, and then in the absolute most extreme cases necessary. Not "I want my policy prescription implemented faster"

I wouldn't say a teacher works long hours. I think they have more paid time off than any other profession. Kids are fine today, no different than any other generation. I feel bad for the teachers that have multiple complex students (no English, special needs, etc.) with little to no help plus class sizes.

Do you just make things up? I was emphatically NOT silent about that. I'm against the use of notwithstanding clause for culture war things like that, and I'm also against that side of the culture war.

According to ATA, average work week is 60.8 hours, so well above the standard 40 hour work week. That's ATA so feel to downgrade it a bunch and its an old article but I'm too lazy.

Does that include their paid holidays, 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week in Nov and March and summers? There's 6 schools in my area, parking lots are empty by 4. Marking a paper at home while watching the Jays game isn't the same as a nurse on the ER who I would say works long hours.
